Loosen the altenater and use a prying bar to tighten the belt by pushing the altnater so as to tighten the belt. while holding altenater in place tighten bolts back tight. Belt should be tight when finished.
IF YOUR BATTERY LIGHT AND THE BRAKE LIGHT ARE ON AT THE SAME TIME THAN CHANCES ARE THE ALTNATER IS FAILING. WHAT I WOULD DO TO TEST THIS AT HOME IS START THE CAR, REMOVE THE BATTERY CABLES IF THE CAR DIES THAN THE ALTNATER IS ON IT'S WAY OUT. IF THE CAR STAYS RUNNING TURN THE HEAD LIGHTS ON IF IT SLOWLY STARTS TO DIE SAME THING THE ALTNATER IS GOING. OR IF YOU ARE NOT SURE YOU CAN DO THAT YOU CAN GO TO YOUR LOCAL AUTO ZONE AND THEY CAN TEST THE STARTING AND CHARGING SYSTEM FOR FREE. TRY THAT AND GOOD LUCK HOPE THIS HELPED.
I would bet that there is a pully on one of the accessories that is about to stop turning. I would remove the belt and make sure that all of the acc. turn with out to much effort. I.E. altnator the tenstioner, as well as the a/c and idler pullys.
hi there if u send me am e mail a will send u a coppy of the auto data that will give you a full low down on how to change the belt if not release the tentioner slide belt off pully,s and reverse to fit
