The line coming from the Compressor to the Condenser is called the Discharge Line or Hi Pressure Line. The line coming from the Evaporator to the Compressor is called Succion Line or Low Pressure Line.

A/C system leaks checked with dye outside under hood and to compressor and found no leaks. Where else would system leak?

Good possibility that it is leaking at the condensor. This is located in front of the radiator. Check the lines going in and out of it and the condensor (usually in the front bottom). Although uncommon, the evaporator could be leaking also. This is located near the heater core and is hard to get to

HAVE A 1998 MERCURY SABLE. I AM TRYING TO CHANGE THE AC LINES AND WHEN I PULLED THEM OFF,BLACK FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE COMPRESSOR

You had a compressor failure

Now you have a big job ahead of you

You will have to install a new compressor

Remove & Flush all hose assy's

Remove & flush the condensor

Replace the drier or accumulator

Flush the evaporator in place

Put new oil in all components in the correct amounts

there is a radiator type condensor in front of the radiator see this for leaks and there is a radiator type called condensor in the dashboard covered with plastic cover that can also leak as your car is an old model

if you don't have any leaks it sounds like possibly one of the pressure switches are malfunctioning, or possibly a weak compressor relay

1997 nissan altima a/c is blowing hot air, will not hold replacement can of coolant

You mean freon, not coolant. You have a leak somewhere, check the A/C lines, check condensor for leaks, broken tubes, check compressor.

My ac compressor locked up. What needs to be

I would suggest leak testing it you can take hose with clamps to the outlet and put a psi gauge on it then hook a compressor to the other end with a hose with clamps. This will show you if you have any obvious leaks you dont need alot 10psi and hold as long as you would like atleast a min you can also spray it with soap bubles to be sure. the condenser if its not leaking would be fine with a flush.

Leaking ac

Most probable leak place would be the condensor or the lines.

Blows air and heater works but no ac

Blowing air just means the fan is working.
No cold air is usually just low refrigerant
but it could be a bad compressor as well.
Have the refrigerant level checked first.
