1993 ford tractor 3930. How do I remove power steering pump to change filter?

extremely hot power steering pumps indicate pump under extreme pressure all the time and high pressure oil movement
could be faulty pressure relief valve in the pump
as to removal of the pump disconnect the oil lines and remove ant mounting bolts
for specifics then talk with a ford tractor service center

Can gear box oil be used in place of power steering oil?

Now you can't use gearbox in in power steering system this will block valves and the grade is very different .You can use automatic transmition oil , but it's recommended that you see if it's not hydronic oil as some makes like audio use special hydronic oil

Transmission leak

You are going to have to post more info, if the oil is definitely trans oil bearing in mind the Power steering uses the same colour fluid.
The leak could be from the prop end if so oil seal, front end between engine and box first motion shaft oil seal or in the middle the gearbox sump or the level plug connection.

Steering is hard

That body style of Grand Cherokees suffers from bad lower steering gearbox seals. I suspect that all the power steering fluid has leaked out, from the bottom seal of your steering gearbox. Check to see and if so, have that seal replaced and refill with P/S fluid.

Suddenly leaking power steering fluid, reservoir empty

The best bet is its trans oil. The gearbox has crushable washers/gaskets, the bolts may just need to be tightened slightly to crush the gasket and seal.
