Question about 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis
If the lights are the Parking and Brake lights, you may have the Hazard Button pushed on top of the steering column. All you need to do is push the button on top of the steering column and they will go OFF.
If the headlights are flashing, try turning them off and the Autolamp feature on the dash to OFF, and the Delay timer to OFF.
If this does not help, and you have a Keypad with numbers on it on the door; punch in the numbers of the Security code, open the door and insert your key in the Ignition and start the vehicle.
This should have reset the Security code of the Antitheft system.
If this does not help, open the hood with the engine off. Take off the Battery cable with the black plastic cover. It should show NEG on the top of the Battery or a -dash mark. Leave it off for 10 minutes. Then securely reattach it. This is the last thing to try before calling a Dealer and asking them about it.
Would be interested in knowing what helped fix it.
