It could be the water pump, but it could be water getting on the pulley's and belt causing the whining. Do you know where about the water is leaking. It could be numerous things but most often I see is the coolant cap is bad or the radiator has a small crack. Have the system pressure checked and it will force the water out at the leak.

I have a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix that is running hot. I have changed the water pump and the thermostat. Checked all hoses and they are good(no leaks) yet I'm still running hot. What's the next

find the bleed valve on coolant system and burp it. make sure you are using a good 50/50 mix of coolant.
maybe run a coolant system cleaner . maybe a clog?
if worst come to worst blow head gasket

2004 grand prix temp running hot in idle heater and ac wont work and i hear water flowing behind the dash

Possible headgasket concern. First step should be CO leak detection test in cooling system

2002 Pontiac Grand Prix is loosing coolant and having to add every 3-4 days. No leaks are found. After running car for some time there seems to be no pressure under the radiator cap and its cold.

Try getting your local mechanic to pressure test it. The can pump up the system and check for leaks.
Also the head gasket might have a minor leak. It may only leak once engine cools, the head shrinks and then water leaks out

Friends car(2001 pontiac grand prix) 3.8 v6.started running hot,so he replaced thermostat. didn't help. so replaced water pump. helped very little. heater hoses cold to touch and blows cold inside. worked...

yes, but it's designed to drive the air out as long as you open the cap and run it until it's hot, keeping the radiator full. Eventually the air will come out and heater hoses should get coolant.

My 1997 grand prix gtp has a leak

Is it water or coolant that leaks inside. Water will be clear, coolant will be yellowish-green or blue. If it is clear than it is just a rubber hose that is loose from the AC drain. Replace the hose and clamp. If it is coolant then you have a leaking heater core and would need to get it replaced.

1. My grand prix gtp has problems with leaking on the passenger side. I cannot locate the leak. 2. My engine runs too hot when ideling. I changed the thermostat but this did not help. I need your assi

Make sure your cooling fans are coming on when the temp heats up. Are you talking about a leak inside the car or outside? Inside is usaully a drain tube for the A/C stopped up. Outside, look for a water pump or intake gasket.

1996 grand prix se running hot

it sounds like it may have air in the system there should be a bleeder valve for the coolant also if it ran hot you may have a possible head gaskt problem i would try bleeding the air out of the coolant system and if problem is still there you can buy a kit to check the head gasket it hooks to the coolant system and you pour a liquid in it and if it turns from blue to yellow it has a head gasket problem
