Question about 1995 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

My truck runs but when you step on the throtle it stumbles and wants to stall but just before it does it comes out of it as long as I hold the peddle still. when driving,if you step suddenly it will stumble first. I replaced the filter already and the pump was enstalled about a year ago new. this is a 1995 5.7

    I put restore thru the gas to clean everything. There are no codes firing off. I checked using a jumper wire and the check engine light.

    Thankyou for your answers, I found the problem to be the Throtle body gasket, so off I go to change it.

I would clean out the throttle body and check for any vacuum leaks and test your throttle position sensor

    Normally if a sensor is bad, you will get a check engine light. However it doesn't always happen that way. Do check throttle body, check for any vacuum leaks for sure. Check fuel pressure as well to make sure your fuel pump and pressure regulatory are working because that won't show up codes either.

Hi! THe problem will surely be on the MAF (mass air flow) sensor. The MAF has big contribution on engine performance specially on the idling. If the MAF fails the car stutters during take off. Have it replaced and you'll be good. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

    Sometimes it does not appear on the gauge or on diagnostics. But Im pretty sure that it's a MAF issue.

    Sensor fault doesn't always comes up. That is if the PCM (powertrain control module) is faulty.

    not sure if your last comments were for me or another expert since.
    when talking to multiple "experts" PLEASE include their name in your post

    I see you are seeking additional opinions but let me explain why a defective sensor won't show a code

    your cars computer, while much better than any computer of years past, is still a relatively stupid computer

    the computer sees the incoming signals from the TP and MAF and calculates them as "input" signals

    its like your kitchen stove and you are the computer
    you turn on the front burner and nothing happens
    you are smart and say....well that's not correct and you do something to fix the problem

    your car however is not that smart
    it just sees the signal and says OK that's my value and keeps working

    if your car was controlling your stove it would turn the stove on and if the burner did not light would do nothing. the end result would be a room full of gas and when the ignitior finally light your whole house would explode

    the computer is not smart enough to know there is a problem

    its a lot like a 16 year-old driving a car they are not SMART enough!

    they see the "low oil" light but do not know what to do about it until the engine stops running!!!

Are you check the right presuure from fuel pump? I suggtes make any clean work in the fuel system and IAC, EGR and MAF sensors. Are you make one scan to the PCM, any fault code there?

Its a 115000 btu multi fuel.it starts up,runs a few seconds,then shuts off.it doesnt smoke or anything wierd,it just shuts off.

What cause the engine to stumble and then stall w/ charge and oil pressure indicators coming on


1) Val adjustment is set too tight
2) engine ha worn camshaft lobe.bent push rods or worn valve lifters
3) loss of power in one or more cylinders due to defects in ignition system
4) intake manifold system is leaking
5) air cleaner dirty
6) leaky valves.
7) fuel mixture is too lean or too rich
8) fuel pump is defective.
