SOURCE: whats the torque specs on a 2001 ford focus 2.0

You need to buy the manual, because you also need to know the order in which to torque them.
http://www.car-stuff.com/mmparts/ford-focus/repair_manual.html
usually you start at the middle and circle outward.
But they can differ. Some cars you always need to put in new head bolts. Others are done in several stages. This is too critical to take chances on.
If you really can't afford $19 for a manual, go to the library and xerox the pages.

SOURCE: TORQUE SPECS /HEAD GASKET/2001 CAVALIER...

for the 2.2L OHV:
(pully 8 4 1 5 9 <-- long bolts @ 63Nm (46ft/lb)
side ) 7 3 2 6 10 <-- short bolts / 10 is the stud @ 58Nm (43ft/lb)

for the 2.4l dohc are as follows:
(pully 9 3 1 5 7
side) 10 6 2 4 8
bolts 1-8 torqued to 65Nm (40ft/lb)
bolts 9-10 torqued to 40Nm (30ft/lb)

then (either engine) give each an additional 90° (¼) turn

it's best to do the tightening in stages, you don't want to go completely tight on the first pass or there will problems and you'll get to do it all over again

Con rods don't have settings. Unless you're talking about the torque spec, and unless you're rebuilding the engine there is no reason to want this information.

Need 2001 sebring convertible connecting rods torque specs

most vehicles are around 25NM plus 30? i just tighten them with a 1/2inch rachet and **** and you not far wrong ,make sure you fit the end shells in the right way around as some use a oil hole in the con rod to squirt oil up the bore now most sets of bearings will have holes in all the end shells but i come come across some that dont ,so look carefully also a bit of grease on them will help the initial start up ,yes i know what the manual says but you cannot beat the grease

I have a 1998 Holden Astra eng noEL20B24119 and want to know the Head bolt torque settings and sequence. The engine is the transition model with twin tappet cover seals. has the torx star headed bolts.

I cannot find a EL20B in my data, but all Astra listed had the same head sequence as shown:

10 6 2 3 7

9 5 1 4 8

the torque specs for the C20XE,C20NE,X20XEV were all
25nm(18lb/ft),-then 90 deg,-90deg,-90deg.
Z20LET were as above plus an additional 15deg.
Same data for smaller and larger engines(except a couple that were 45deg instead of 15)
Make sure that you replace the head bolts with new, they are torque to yield bolts that are designed to stretch to 'plastic' state, and should not be reused.
Put grease(graphite if you have it) under bolt heads and washers, oil the threads.
Usually the head sets come with the torque specs.
I hope this helps you.
