Hi! Few things to look at... First, the ignition coil could be faulty which can cause failure on cranking via key. If coil is good then the problem could be on the steering column ignition switch. THe contact may be worn which can cause it not to start. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

My 92 nissan primera wont start lights work on dash board turn key on wont start

turn headlight on - either with another person or facing a wall.
try starting. If lights dim it is a bad battery ot connection to the battery.
If not it is in ur starter ckt - relay, starter motor, starter solinoid.

You need a better battery. When you hook the amp meter and read 0.3 the ECM needs to sleep

Starter stays engaged when key is off

mcdevito 75 here, It sounds like the solinoid switch on the stater, take off the positive battery cable if the starter stops then it"s the solinloid, Have your shop change the starter.

1994 buick park ave, wont crank over,

Pass key is the security system which disables the car if it is stolen. You need the remote or a key with a chip to start the car. go to a dealer, prove ownership with registration and they will be able to help you out

1994 Nissan Pathfinder won't start, even jumping it.

I had a similar problem w/ my 94 Pathfinder. The problem was a cheap security system that was offered in that year model and the wiring between the ignition and the starter was run through this system. The dealership was able to by pass the security system and this fixed the problem. For years other mechanics told me it was the starter but I knew it was something else.
