I am not a Mazda user but I will try to help you with some advice.Since you have not mentioned the mileage on the car I am just going to assume that it is below 50000miles.
Now since you are the second owner and has noticed that the oil pressure indication can be the reason the engine has packed out, then with the available records you can file a compaint stating that you have not received the performance Mazda seems to advertise . Also the record of your vehicle is intact , it was never tampered by anyone but only by Mazda dealership and that you are dissatisfied .
The local delear who was attendiing the car during this period is the one who has to file to the warranty dept. of Mazda for availing a special claim as the car is more than 6 years Old. Hence the legal rights may not be ggood enough unless you get the warranty dept. to have a personal regard.
When there is a official recall for a manufacturing fault then there is a time limit for the recall and the customer must get this done in the said period. So if the first owner was not aware then sometimes the management may not respond.
Also since you are the second owner is also a negative to our claim.
What at least you can ask for will be to get the engine done up at their dealership service free of cost considering that you are a MAZDA FAVOURITE.
Please have a mail sent to the Warranty dept with copy to the marketing manager/area sales, the local dealer and to the head office. Call them after a day and follow it up with careful words so as the management will respond well to a good customer... specially in such trying times of marketing.
I hope you case will be heard and allowed.

Replacing starter motor

MONTEREY, Calif. -- After suffering a black eye from disclosing that it won't count RX-8 owners' opinions in its internal customer-satisfaction scores, Mazda says it may have to replace the engines in many of its flagship sports cars.

The voluntary recall of all 2004 and 2005 vehicles, and some 2006s, is expected to be announced this week or next. It involves damage to the catalyst resulting from oil leaks in the RX-8's rotary engine.

Any engine that does not pass a vacuum test must be replaced, said Robert Davis, head of product development and quality at Mazda North American Operations.

Engines prone to failing the test are mostly in hot climates and use synthetic oils.

Mazda also will check each RX-8's battery and starter, which tend to fail in cold climates.

"We're going to give these cars the white-glove treatment," Davis said. "We would rather replace the engine than have the dealer crack them open."

Davis would not disclose the projected failure rate of the engines or the cost to replace them.

Mazda has a remanufacturing center in North Carolina that will rebuild faulty engines and return them to service.

The recall comes after a video Webcast by two dealers who attended the July 11-13 National Dealer Advisory Council meetings in Newport Beach, Calif., was leaked on the Internet.

In the video, dealers said problems with the RX-8 were unfairly lowering Mazda customer-satisfaction scores.

Mazda informed the dealers that RX-8 owners would continue to be surveyed, but that the responses would not factor into dealer
customer-satisfaction scores. See story here

Mazda has issued service bulletins on such trouble spots as squeaky
brakes and engine flooding.

When engine starts from cold there is a squeeking noise from the drive belt which goes away when the engine warms up its a 2004 sp23 with 40000 kms

Try some belt dressing on the belt. You can get it at any parts store. If that doesn't help, replace the belt.

Tune up Mazda 6

the owner of the car should be able perform engine tune-up . Prepare the tune up tools and materials . so that when tune-up is performed ,engine should be on peak performance and within specification.Use multi tester , Use timing light, use dwall meter ,use tachometer ,use feeler guage, adjust spark plug and contact point gaps. Adjust Idle speed and Idle mixture. Adjust tappet clearance, observe safety rules. If the owner of the car cant do the job done because of work then the owner of the car should go to a car mechanic and let them tune-up the engine.

Plugged in a trailer and now brake lights and horn don't work

There definitely should be a fuse for your brake lights. It should be inside the car fuse box, but sometimes it'll be under the hood (very rare). There's also a switch above the brake pedal that turns your brake lights on. This switch may be faulty

Mazda cx7 engine noise

Does the engine have hydraulic lifters? If so air can get into the chamber under the lifter and cause lifter noise.

Diagnosis and repair requires removing the Valve Cover. A fairly easy job for your local shop.
