If the service engine light is on, a sensor is sending a signal to the computer telling it something is wrong. A mechanic or dealer can hook the car up to a scanner and try to get the trouble code out of the computer and reset the light for you or you can simply disconnect the battery for a few seconds then reconnect it. If there is something wrong, the light will eventually come back on again until the problem is fixed.

How to fix traction control>

Traction control doesn't shut the engine off. It will shut off the ABS system. Which is for slipping and sliding. You need to have the codes read. You can get code readers fairly cheap now days. But the cheaper ones will not read the ABS system or any other. Just the engine.

Flashing service engine soon light flashes then shut off

Check engine lights have been used for over 30 years and yet most people do not know what they are used for.
The check engine light tells the driver a problem exists with the performance or emissions of the engine. Not the actual engine itself.
Anytime something happens that could affect emissions or performance, the light comes on and a trouble code is set in the computer memory. The driver then has to have the computer scanned for those codes to know what component to have checked.

I have a 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale and the service engine soon light will not ever shut off as long as the car is running. This has continued for a very long time. I bought the car used about

When the service engine soon light (Also called the check engine light or engine management light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that Powertrain Control Module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls you may not feel any difference in the way the engine runs, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.

2004 chevy trailblazer-Reduce engine power light, service engine soon light came on together, car lost all power, couldn't even turn the steering wheel, engine stalled. shut off key and started again and...

You need to get the fault codes read to determine where the problem is that set the SES light. Autozone will scan your car at no charge. At some point you will need to get a mechanic involved to further diagnose the codes.

Service engine soon light on but car was service already

If when the car is serviced, the light has to be shut off with a scan tool. It connects to the datalink and resets the computer which will shut off the light.

Service engin light is on.

You can go to Autozone and have the code pulled and turn the light off, but if there is a problem the light will come right back on. Your vehicle’s computer system has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with some of the components it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" light to tell you that there is a problem and you will need to have the car diagnosed and repaired. Let me know what the codes are.
