The manufacturer recommends 10w-30.....any thinner (5-30) and you might start hearing the lifters tapping away at you

5w30 gives good gass milage, and it works - usually that what imports use from 99, but 10w30 won't hurt, just use the same wirght of oil

Lots of oil leaking how many seals are there that could leak and is it a big job to fix. the leak appears to be on the back drivers side of the engine, it is a 1999 mazda protege 4 cylinder

you need to clean the engine off and fill it with oil,put your car on a hoist to find the oil leak when it starts so it doesn't run to other places and you think its leaking there.
