Code 16

Charging system voltage was either below 9 volts or above 17 volts for 10 seconds. System High Voltage If the voltage is above 17.1 volts for more than 2 seconds, the Service Engine Soon light will illuminate. Have the charging system checked.

The "Check Engine Light" could be something major, or something as minor as a loose
gasoline filler cap. The only way to know is to find someone who can attach an OBD-II code reader
to your car's ODB-II computer port and talk to your car's on-board computer, and ask it what it thinks
is wrong.
Also, the "Yellow light with the triangle that has an exclamation mark in the middle and a circle going around" could be the SES light (Service Engine Soon), which could mean that everything is fine with the car, except the SES light needed to be reset at the 3400Km oil change, but it wasn't.
In the U.S., Pep Boys and Advance Auto Parts are national parts store chains that will read the ODB-II codes setting your "Check Engine" light free - don't know who will do this free in Canada/U.K., though.

The sevice engine light stay on.

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

I strongly suggest that you have the engine scanned. During the diagnostic, it will list all the trouble codes and by then you'll know what part needs replacement. This is wiser than guessing what's the fix.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

My check engine light just came on. I have a 2004 Celica-GT. Is there a way to read the code without an OBD-II? I know you could do it on older models by connecting the TE1 and E1.

Sorry but no. You will need a OBD II code reader you can get them pretty cheep theses days. Or you might be able to go to your local parts house and rent one for cheap.

Orange 'Chaeck Engine 'light comes on

This means that you need a diagnostic device connected to the vehicle in order to read, retrieve or erase any error codes. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

96 nissan 200sx is it obd2 ready

yes it has an obd2 diagnostic plug The trouble codes that are required by law on all OBD II systems are "generic" in the sense that all vehicle manufacturers use the same common code list and the same 16-pin diagnostic connector. Thus, a P0302 misfire code on a Nissan means the same thing on a Honda Toyota or Mercedes-Benz. But each vehicle manufacturer also has the freedom to add their own "enhanced" codes to provide even more detailed information about various faults

Engine will not start where is connection for finding diagnostic fault codes? are these flash codes when connected?

sounds like a fuel pressure problem. no flash codes for that year that will tell you anything. make sure the fuel pump is working.

You could try troublecodes.net. Not sure if they have listings for AU vehicles tho. Can't a local Toyota mechanic print them for you? Or try a library if you have access.
