Try hotwiring the solenoid on the starter. Suspect you have a bad solenoid. If hotwire works, problem is in wiring or ignition switch.

when you say hotwiring, is that the same and two screw drivers crossing and if it kicks over, bad solenoid. showing my ignorance here

Yes, I mean putting 12 volts straight to the solenoid. There is a hot wire on the starter that you can cross to the solenoid. Make sure you are jumping the positive side of the solenoid--you could melt the terminal if you accidentally cross to the negative terminal. You can also jump the starter itself, but your symptoms indicate solenoid or ignition switch. If the solenoid jumps OK, remove the wire from the positive side of the solenoid and check to see if it's getting voltage when the key is turned to start. This is the wire to trace back to the ignition switch.

2000 standard mustang wont crank, starter, start relay battery all check ok, anything else to check?

No clicks, no noise? Also look at the ignition switch and fuses, neutral/park switch if it's an automatic, and the clutch switch if it's a stick.

2003 Silverado will not start; the satrter and battery are ok but nothing happens when key is turned

Have you tried starting it in neutral? Is it making any sound at all? Is it an automatic or standard? If it's a standard it may be your clutch safety switch, if it's an auto it may be a faulty neutral safety switch.

My 1996 Nissan Altima Won't start, The battery is Fine But When I push in the clutch and turn it over it doesn't do anything at all

Clutch safety switch maybe . There is a electrical circuit that won't let Battery voltage go to the starter unless the clutch pedal is pressed . The switch should be on top of the clutch pedal arm . You would need to lay on the drivers floor board an look up under the dash . Two wires , green with white stripe - this is the B+ side of the switch , the other side is black . trying to start the vehicle there should be battery voltage , you can use a volt meter to test it . You can also check the other wire as well . If there is no B+ voltage , up stream from the clutch switch is a clutch interlock relay . Here is a web site for free wiring diagrams , do you know what they are ? Enter the vehicle info. Year , make , model an engine size . Under system click engine , then subsystem click starting . Click the blue link .You will see the ignition switch , the other things i mention . Do you know how to use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ?

Will not crank, but battery and starter are ok ?

Neutral safety switch? Try shifting out of park and into neutral. Is anything clicking (like a solenoid) and just the starter does not crank over? Maybe starter solenoid.

Wont start

Have your battery charged and checked first. If the battery is fine then most likely your starter is bad. My first instinct says the battery is bad.

My 1996 Audi A4 1.8 manual, does not want to start. The battery is 100%, dash lighst comes on, but the engine does not crank when the key is turned in the ignition. Not even a click sound. nothing. Please...

Either your clutch safety switch has gone bad, or the starter is defective.
Remove the plug for the safety switch(on the pedal bracket next to the clutch pedal). Jump the wires together, try to start.
If it doesn't start, you will need to check out the starter

My a/c clutch engages/disengages frequently sometimes.

your AC system is low on refridgerent charge, this is caused by a leak in the system, the most common cause on this car is the front shaft seal of the AC compressor on your engine, have the whole system twested for leaks and recharge with TYPE R134 refridgerent
