Yes the seal can be gotten separately and you need a new mechanic sounds like he has his best interest in mind not yours my mom owns one of these vehicles i know them well she bought hers new in 1995 3.8l supercharged some parts are a little difficult to find but most every thing can be bought new and if not go to www.car-part.com punch in your vehicle info and your zip code then the part you need it will show you the closest place that has it the cost of it and thier phone# hope this helps and if your car is in otherwise good mechanical shape keep riding it cheaper than a car so hope this helps you

There is only one seal on this tank and the tank does need to be dropped down out of your car but if it is indeed leaking and since it it is a '95 i would replace the in-tank fuel pump which comes with the seal and not have to worry about either for a long time.you should be looking at about $150-175,parts and labor!about half a new car payment

Well, this depends on what seal he is referring to....as you have the gas cap seal (cheap and easy replacement) or the fuel pump access hole seal (re moval of tank is required, costly).......so I would ask specifically which seal he is referring to, unless he has just checked the trouble codes and he has come up with this diagnosis..........

I hope this helps

Gas leaks out of the bottom, but only when I gas up. It doesn't leak at any other time, but it is preventing me from putting gas in the car. I took it to a named brand mechanic shop close to my home...

Its leaking from the tank?
You might need some new tubing.
If there is a hole in the tank try to find it and use putty/epoxy to seal it.
This is a simple leak, there is no need for an entire new fuel system

How do i repair the gas gauge on 1991 honda accord ex. it shows full to 3/4 tank regardless of how much is in there

The problem is in the float mechanism in the tank which is also connected to the fuel pump. You must drop the tank and remove the pump and mechanism then replace the sending unit and float assy

I hv a Honda accord 94. It was running great but yesterday it start creating problem. Wen I try to push gas pedal it start missing n rpm needle goes upto 5000. I thought it could be coz of spark plugs so...

Hi,
Looks like some engine oil goes into the cylinder and contaminate your spark plug, thus making your plugs miss.
Look where that oil damp spark plug located at cylinder number, in that cylinder the valve seal is to be replace immediately. Valve seal is located on top of the engine that seals the intake/exhaust valve and valve guide, from oil going in the cylinder.
You could ask your mechanic to do the job, it is a bit hard to replace it. the parts needed coat just under $5.
Hope that helps you out!

I have a transmission leak near the front axle. Is it worth is to get this fixed or should I trade in for another car? I love my Accord, but if the repair will be over $2K, then I might look to purchase...

Don't sell it but a transmission leak is not going to be 2000.00 if its a seal. you are looking 250.00 dollars Thats for both sides and parts. Trans pan gasket w/filter is about 122.00 parts and labor. I could replace the whole trans for 2000.00 so you shouldn't worry just make sure you go to a good mechanic shop. any more questions repost.happt to answer

Dumped all its transmission fluid is the rear seal

Could be the rear seal but for the oil to come out that fast it is usually under pressure--Check ur cooling lines-if they are ok u might need a front seal.
