Question about 2003 Subaru Outback

1 Answer

I`ve replaced the left side air/fuel sensor in my subaru 2003 H6, as the OBD2 indicated it was the fault causing the check engine light to be on, do I need to connect an OBD2 to clear the fault or will the computer eventually work it out.

2002 subaru forester. will not idle or take fuel properly. have replaced idle air control, coil, timing belt, etc. does not read any codes.

Try unplugging the MAF sensor, the check engine light will come on but the engine should run almost normally. If this is the case replace the MAF sensor. MAF's seldom set fault codes.

Even with the VDC light on it shouldn't fishtail. Unless you have a lead foot or the tires are bald. Best to have the codes read. Could just be a bad wheel sensor.

Obd2 code p1237 on honda civic diesel after engine malfunction light went off car goes into limp mode especially when engine is cold what does obd2 code p1237 mean what is the fault car runs ok then

DTC ) fault code ) - P1237:
Boost Control Positive Deviation

This fault code can be set when the fuel tank is empty or the specified fuel is not used. ( supermarket fuels etc have been known to cause this.. )

It can also be attributed to a turbo fault - if the fault is no turbo boost.

2003 Lexus GS300 P0031 code

Yes the O2 sensor preheater problem will turn on the VSC light, see the complaint often, why? don't know
.P0031 TOYOTA - Oxygen Sensor Heater Control Circuit Low Bank 1 Sensor 1
In most cases the O2 being replaced cures the code but here is the full story.
Possible causes- Air-Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit open shorted to ground
- Air-Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Air-Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit
- Air-Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit fuse
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

I have an '02 VW Cabrio that is giving me random 171 and occasional 102 OBD codes. I looked for and found a split hose near the air filter housing and replaced. I've not found any others with...

1st have you replaced the O2 sensor? Here is the technical stuff about this fault code
OBD 2 fault code P0171 VOLKSWAGEN - Fuel control System To lean engine cylinder bank number #1.
Possible causes:
Possible causes- Intake air leaks, spray propane around the intake manifold gasket and all vacuum connections and listen for a change in the engine idle speeds, any change indicates a leak.
- Faulty front heated oxygen sensor (a common cause if the car has over 50,000 miles on it)
- Ignition misfiring
- Faulty fuel injectors
- Exhaust gas leaks
- Incorrect fuel pressure Hook up a fuel gauge and make sure the fuel pressure is good/in specs under a load.
- Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
- Incorrect Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose connection

Diagnostic code po325 what does this mean

Hi the error code relates to the PCM Knock Sensor Circuit

A knock sensor tells the engine computer when one or more of your engine's cylinders are "knocking", that is, exploding the air/fuel mixture in a way that delivers less power and can be damaging to the engine if prolonged. The computer uses this information to tune the engine so that it doesn't knock. If your knock sensor wasn't operating properly, so that it was always indicating a knock, the engine computer's response may have been to change the ignition timing on your engine. The knock sensor generally threads into the engine block. This P0325 code may show up intermittently or the Service Engine light may be lit constantly.
Symptoms

You may notice drivability problems including a lack of power and perhaps some hesitation. There may also be other symptoms.
Causes

A code P0325 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:

* The knock sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced
* There is a wiring short/fault in the knock sensor circuit

Possible Solutions

* Check the resistance of the knock sensor (compare it to factory specs)
* Check for broken/frayed wires leading to the sensor
* Replace the knock sensor

Hope this helps
Steve

I have a huge loss of power. The car idles ok but has not power to excelerate. The engine light just came on. Can this be a fuel pump or injector problem?

when the check engine light comes on it indicates the engine control computer (called the PCM) has detected a failure in the electronic fuel injection or emission control system, the 1st phase of finding out what the problem is being caused by is to run a OBD2 electronic engione control fault code test, this can be done with a generic code reader avail from any auto parts store, you can also get a free fault code test run at any Kragen auto parts or Autozone, other so called discount auto parts stores do this for free as well, the code will have a definition attached to it, it is likely you have either a fuel pressure problem or a MAF (Mass Airflow) sensor failure, but both of these repairs are expensive so don't guess get the test run.

Engine hestitation, 2000 subaru forester

I think these codes are indicating a fault with your catalytic converter. The 02 sensors are each not returning the correct values to the ECM, causing a "suspect the 02 sensors" fault code.

2003 Subaru Outback check engine light stays on

You may have to take it to a shop and have them connect their OBD tool to the computer and clear the deep memory. If you have a code left in the deep memory it can reapear like that. Good luck. Please rate me so I know how I'm doing. Thanks.
