In a 2001 Chevy Malibu what would cause the gas gage, temp gage, heat/ac, radio, windows, and cruise control to stop working all at once?

Bad ground. You have several of them on the inside of the car. There are a couple on the steering column. one one each side of the car. Under the kick panels on the drivers and passenger side. These have several wires going the a ground plug. Mounted to the body.

On a 2001 Mazda B2550, does the BCM also control the temp gage, fuel gage and speedo?

very likely as the BCM controls the electronic components in a vehicle, but it's worth checking the fuse box under the hood , i noticed you said you had checked the fuse's but the under hood one's tend to get forgotten

Hi Pixie, The flashing light is indicating a fault in the electronic climate control unit. Take the vehicle for a diagnostic scan and that will indicate the area of the problem. Regards John

When i start it it starts fine but if it is cold it will not idle i have to keep pushing gas pedal

remove and clean idle air control ( IAC ). this is what controls idling of engine, evedently the iac must be stuck. if the engine is cold and the iac is working properly, then it should go up to about 12 or 13 hundred rpms then gradually slow down to proper idle. my 2000 malibu 3.1 idles at 650 rpms when warm.

I have a 2000 malibu and the coolant temp and fuel guage does not work and no warning lights work when the key is in the on position (oil, abs, airbag) all fuses are good

I think you're going to need a new cluster. I don't have your wiring diagram, but my 2000 camaro wiring diagram is below. It has a logic device built in that controls the temp and fuel gages.
The same chip also runs the bulb test at startup. I found a used cluster online here for 70 bucks: http://instrumentclusterstore.com/I852-3662-P1152C4337.aspx

A new one from GM is about $240.

I need to find the coolant fan sensor on a 2000 chevrolet malibu.

It doesnt have a fan sensor per say. It uses a coolant temp sensor which is located in the lower intake manifold which relays temp to computer which controls relay circuit to fans.
