Question about Oldsmobile Silhouette
By design, the headlamps will illuminate for safety. If it will crank and not start, the security system may be in play. Double check your battery(just to safe). You may have to remove the alternator and have it tested. My advice would be this; have it towed to the nearest GM dealership for they may have to reprogram the security system. This is what it sounds most probable. If this does turn out to be the security system, have them reprogram(usually around $50-$75) and then run down to your nearest autoparts store and have them test the alternator for free. Just to verify the charging system and give you piece of mind. Let me know what you find.
