Question about 2008 Ford Fusion

1 Answer

I recently purchased a 2008 Ford Fusion and noticed the brake pedal was not as hard as it should be.I brought this to my salesman's attention and he made an appointment for the brakes to be looked at.The techs figured out that the master cylinder was faulty. They ordered the part and put it in and then they said they need a special tool to bleed the brakes this was a little strange because I never heard of any special tool to bleed brakes. Can you help me out and tell me if it is true?

Some use a brake bleeder pump that sucks the fluid through the line its every likely. Is it a ford dealer? or is it a small car dealer?? if its a ford dealer I would think they have all the tools and probably forgot about your car. if its a small car lot then I would say yes.

Brake lights is controled from "brake light switch", generally, this is located on top back side brake pedal.

2004 Ford Fusion Auto, clicking from pedal area when braking and going back on to accelerator.

Hello, Check under the Drivers side dash. Look at the top of the brake pedal lever and there is a switch there. Sometimes the switch gets kicked and damaged or just shifted in its' holder. The switch is most likely working as it is the one which allows you to shift out of Park when depressing the brake pedal.

You can check your brake lights too, but they may work if the switch case is broken and not shorted.
