1988 f150 3006, stalls & I have to let it sit before I can start it , I also seem to have something drawing on the battery

There can be several things that cause it. (I ordered a trouble code unit for these things.) This is 1 easy thing, fill the tank with around 88 octane and add dry gas with injector cleaner. This will get out water vapor and some other junk. A bad or malfunctioning O2 sensor can cause that also. (Most parts stores can check for trouble codes.) Most parts chain stores can give you a rough idea. To me it sounds like it's getting to rich of a mixture and "flooding".
Next time it does that, pop the hood and see if it has a strong gas smell. It could be as simple as a clogged fuel filter. Does the check engine light come on? If so it has sensed something not working right. hence you can get a trouble code. A bad gas cap can cause more troubles than you'd think.

The truck has been sitting for a while and i have got gas on this side of the lines but it will only fire when i spray gas in the throttle body. are the injectors pluged?

It is very unlikely that all injectors are plugged. It would be either the ECU not letting the injectors open, or I would also check the valve on the fuel rail. Sometimes it is electric and sometimes vacuum. If this malfunctions you will have plenty of fuel pressure but nothing will get to the injectors. Hope this helps!

I have a 1988 Ford Truck F150. The truck has

With truck off and key on, you should be able to hear the solenoid under the truck switch from one to the other tank, if you don't hear it, check for voltage at switch, if you have voltage there, have some one work the switch while your under the truck to check voltage there at the gas tank solenoid, also tap on it, while working the switch, could be stuck, if you have voltage, but don't switch, solenoid will have to be replace.

1988 ford f150, was running fine, shut off at gas station now won't start, can here fuel pumps running

Do you have duel tanks or singel tank? it is possible the fuel filter is plugged. Thats the first thing I would check You could also remove the air cleaner and have someone crank it over and being careful not getting into the belts and fan open the plate in the throttle body and see if fuel is comming out of the injectors. If the fuel does not come out the injectors try replaceing the filter first.

I just bought a 1988 f250 5.8l v-8. When I got it today they said it had been sitting a few months. I drove the truck it was ok for about a mile then sputtered and died. truck would start and sounded like...

Is fuel filter on backwards? This is common in fords cuz ppl run tank dry then switch tanks so all rust sticks to bottom of strainer some gets through. Start there look for arrow on side o filter point toward front

Truck runs like ****

You have checked the fuel pressure? Do you have a check engine light? As for the tank filling up the wrong one, that is caused from a bad tank select valve on the frame rail.

'88 f150 will not start, 0 fuel pressure

I know the ford cars had a trip relay for the fuel pump. In the event of a wreck it shuts the fuel pump down and has to be reset manually. I am unsure if the pickups had the same thing.

1988 ford f150 running rough

Might want to change o2 sensor's, If they are not sending the right single its tell the computer to dump fuel. 1988 was using a fuel density system.
(1989 came out with Mass air flow system)
Check this
I think it might have a TFI module that's not working right. Located under distributor. Its gray and about 4" long and if equip, you need a 4 or 5.5 mm tool to unbolt it. This was a common thing back in the 80's. Its been so long I can't remember if the 4.9 straight 6 had it or not.
