Question about 2004 Toyota Tacoma

1 Answer

I own a 2004 Toyota Tacoma 4x4...the plate protecting the oxygen sensor has vibrated so much so that the nuts on top are gone. I bought new nuts and attached however they will not tighten down enough to stop the plate from vibrating loudly while driving. Can i put a piece of metal in between?....use a different kind of bolt??? Thanks, B

Where is the decelaration senser for the a.b.s. o4 tacoma 4x4

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) C1244 is a "maufacturer-specific" code used by Toyota for this vehicle. Toyta defines this code simply as "DECELERATION SENSOR CIRCUIT."

Possible causes are:
> Faulty ABS deceleration sensor
> Open or short in deceleration sensor circuit
> Defective wiring harness or connectors

The deceleration sensor for your 2004 Toyota Tacoma is located under the passenger seat.

Replace starter

Disconnect the battery, then crawl under the truck and locate the starter, remove the plug going to the solenoid (small brown lead w plastic clip) . then the power wire that goes from the battery to the main starter terminal (12 mm nut) locate the 2 starter bolts 14 mm and unbolt the starter and remove. install in reverse order. ON the 4 wheel drives you may need to remove the skid plates over the bottom of the engine to access the starter.

Intermittant P0136

OK Thad code PO136 is your oxygen sensor the one before the catalytic converter and yes if your you bought your car brand new
from the dealer ship yes you are covered by the factory warranty
but if you got it from a used car dealer then you are not.

If you are not covered the good news is than that is not so hard to change.
all you need is a jack a oxygen sensor tool ( you can get it as a loaner on Auto Zone no charge ) and a new oxygen sensor.

If you don't know how a catalytic converter looks like click this link
good luck.
