Codes po340 2004 Sebring

DTC code is P0340 no cam signal at PCM. Chrysler always used to say replace the cam and crank sensors together..wouldn't pay our warranty time at dealer unless we replaced both.

I got 2 codes from friends diagnostic machine .... po340 and po 344 could you tell me what they are for?

P0340-P0345 aeall for the "camshaft" postion sensor. It is going out, or a wire to it is intermittantly shorting against a ground. But, is DEFINATELY in the camshaft postion sensor.

Why is my engine light on?

Because you have a diagnostic trouble code reported to your on board diagnostics computer. Go to auto zone or a similar auto parts store have them check the code and reply to this with the code or codes and I can tell you what they mean and what you will need to do to correct them ok

Check engine light bmw 325i code 340

Code PO340 "Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction". Now that does not mean that if you simply replace the sensor your problem will be solved. It can be simply loose, cut, or corroded wiring. It can also be something entirely different. This is where diagnostic skills come in.

DTC - PO340, PO325

My Nissan micro 2004 model just stopped in the middle of the road one day then the engine management light came on, anyway took it to my local garage TWK Thomas who said it was a cam shaft sensor problem. OK so sensor was put on, engine management light went off for two days only. So went back to the garage they said that another sensor should be fitted on the opposite side. And then the problem should be rectified, but i had given the £160 for this problem to be fixed the first time. I decided it was time to take it to another garage Nis Tec they put it on the computer and a code po340 came up would this mean another sensor or the cam chain has stretched please help. ...claire

Po340 and po344 intrepid

Take a look at this link  The problem lies in the cam shaft sensor circuit which means that it isn't necessarily the sensor itself.  Read what that page has to say and just start from the top and work your way down the solutions.  As far as how much it cost, it obviously depends on what is wrong, but assuming it is your cam shaft sensor you can buy the part for around forty dollars at AutoZone.  Let me know if you have any other questions.  Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!
