My 1992 Honda Accord's SRS lamp lights whenever the car has been sitting in the direct sunlight and the air temperature is 80 degrees or more. Any remedy to this?

HI, does the light remain on or does it go out after a few seconds?

  • orcalover194 Aug 25, 2010

No, it stays on for quite a while. I live where it is hot most of the summer ... it is 2:33 pm right now and it is 109 degrees outside. And, I only live a little over a mile from work ... it rarely does this on start-up in the morning, but always during the hot summer afternoons.

If this light is staying on during your drive then you need to have it serviced it is telling you that there is a problem in the airbag system. There will be stored diagnostic codes in the system and your technician will be-able to properly repair your vech.

The dash where the time and temperature are the clock works but the temp stays on 7 degrees even though it is 30 degrees outside and car was in the sun.

The external temperature probe is usually located behind a fender/bumper to keep it out of the air flow for a more accurate measurement, that is why the temperature drops after starting off as it sits in a pocket of warm air. It is not in direct sunlight so that shouldn't have harmed it.

What does SRS lit up on the dashboard mean. 1995 accord wagon.

the SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System. Most people call it the air bags but the SRS system includes all of the sensors and control units for air bags, seat belt pre-tensioners and passenger detection systems on cars that are equiped with themeach time you start the car up the SRS control unit will do a self-test of the system to make sure all of the sensors are working properly. The SRS light will stay on while that test is conducted. If all is well and everything passes the on-board test the light will go out in about 7 seconds. If something is wrong the light will stay on.whenever a failure is detected for any reason, the SRS light is turned on and the system is shut off. The air bags will not be deployed when the SRS light is on.They call it a Supplemental Restraint System because your seat belts are your primary restraint system.

My honda accord 1992 has srs light on and i wanna knw how to turn it off

Generally, this is due to the speed sensor on one of the rear wheels going bad. This will cause the ABS light to stay on.

What does the red light on the bord with letters SRS means? It stays on for few seconds after I start the car (Honda accord 1995). Thank you

srs means secondary restraint system. e.g air bags and things like that. when it stays on for a few seconds its because it is doing a systems check. if the light stays on all the time then there is a problem. hope i helped.

Trouble lights on dash

Hey, The SRS mean " Suplement Restrain System"

Or Air Bag System.

If you have the SRS light, you have problem with the Air bag system. and need to take codes to see what happen or what is damaged.
Honda 2000 Accord come with a yellow connector behind of the Instrument panel fuse box. That is used to take manual codes from the SRS computer.. to see the problem.

I hope this respond your question,

Thank's
