Question about Cadillac Fleetwood

U can see that the fuel pump is working but the car will not start. We have changed the fuel filter an there is gas getting to the carborator but very little. If u put gas directly into the carborator it will start then die out. Someone said it could be the fuel pump presure relay. Do u think it could be that if so were is it located on the 1984 fleetwood 4.1 liter?

If you can loosen the fuel line where it connects to the carburetor, do that while cranking the engine to see iof there is pressure at the carburetor. If yes, next take the cover off of the carburetor to see if fuel is flowing into the float bowl. Be careful not to drop anything into the engine intake manifold. If fuel is not flowing in, your float bowl is stuck closed. Remove the float and needle for inspection. There must be a clog between the inlet and the needle or ??? If fuel is flowing in but not getting into the engine, you need to rebuild the carburetor or purchase a rebuilt carburetor.

There is a fuel pump relay but no pressure relay. If the pump is working then that eliminates the relay as the cause. I would disconect the fuel line to the carburetor and check the fuel pressure there. I believe it is supposed to be 12-14lbs. If it is less, the pump could be going bad.

Run your car run out of gas and you try to start it after you put that gas in there and then all of a sudden it won't start what do I do find the car and the van I'm talking about whether is a 1998 Nissan...

1998 Quest is fuel injected. New fuel filter is good but you may need to change it again after checking for plugged injectors. This is not a fun repair to do on side of road. It is possible that fuel lines may be clogged depending on how nasty the fuel in the tank was, especially near empty. The fuel strainer, in gas tank, may be corked up as well.

Changed fuel pump and the gas still isn't getting there to start the car, if you pour gas directly into the carborator it will start but die quickly what could be wrong with it

Try changing the fuel filter. If no help, look into the float bowl on the carburetor for lack of fuel. If so, remove the float and needle-valve to check for a local clog in the needle-valve seat area. If the bowl appears to be nearly full, then check the screw-in jets in the bowl bottom for plugging. Hope this helps!

My jeep will not start all of a sudden. When gas

Check the fuel filter, and i would suggest replaceing the fuel in the tank. It only takes about a month for gas to start to deterioate and if it sat that ling there is probally some junk in the tank. witch probally caused the fuel filter to plug up.

1991 Cadillac Brougham not getting gas

The fuel pump is located on the frame undrneath the passenger side rear door.If you have the throtle body injection used on the 305 engine the electric fuel pump puts out about 8 psi.
Sounds like you have a clogged fuel pump. Not that bad to change if you have the special tool needed to remove the fuel lines to the pump. Ask your local Auto parts store for help.

If it has an electric fuel pump in the tank then the rollover switch may have been activated. The reset should be in the trunk.

the fuel filter sounds like the problem, are you sure its carborated not fuel injucted because fuel injuction has a regulater for the fuel if it is stuck open you would pump gas to the fuel rail and back to the fuel tank
