1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
* Negative battery cable
* Fan and clutch assembly from the pump
* Fan shroud and fan assembly.
* If you're reusing the fan clutch, keep it upright to avoid silicone fluid loss!
* Lower hose
* Water pump (8 bolts)
3. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the bolts, in sequence, to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).

When I do those I find it's easier to get some of the stuff out of the way. Fan shroud, Alternator, AC compressor(don't remove AC hoses just swing it over to the side) and the AC/alternator mount bracket. If you don't have the special hose clamp plyers they are worth buying. (those clamps are difficult with regular plyers) The fan clutch has a special wrench which is thinner. When you start the job break loose the fan clutch before you remove the belt. It keeps tension on the pulley. The nut is normal threading and usually comes loose with a sharp rap of the hammer on the fan clutch wrench.
Here is an illustration of the water pump bolts. I hope this helps you out. let me know how it goes.

This a dificult and time consuming project. Suggest you purchase you a repair manual which gives you diagrams and detailed instructions for this type of repair. Difficult to explain procudure in writing.

The pump is driven by the timing belt so you basically need to take the front of the motor apart. It is quite a job to get at it but is doable. If you are going to do the job I'd suggest changing the timing belt, tensioner pulleys and the cam and crankshaft seals as well, may as well do some preventative maintenance while it is apart. I've got the whole proceedure and will make u a copy if you want.
