I set my trucks RPM on a low setting, from inside, no engine tampering. Now it is warmer. My truck is still running at a low RPM, seems too low for current temperature. How can I adjust my RPM?

how did you adjust a pre-programmed ECU idle settings ??? please be more specific

the vehicle's ECU is pre-programmed to run higher than 1000 rpms while in "open loop mode" then idle back down to ~750 rpms once the engine reaches operating temperature "closed loop mode"

did you tap into the OBD 2 port and used a laptop to change the settings?

Toyota corolla hatch 2002 idle at 2000 rpm when

All the above is normal , except 2000rpm is a little high at idle . can be adjusted down to 1500rpm. the computer adjusts the engine speed . in drive the transmission loads up the engine idle drops to 1000rpm . in park engine unloaded rpm increase all normal.

1997 acura cl 2.2 revs up to 1500 rpm and down to 1000 rpm just several seconds after start

Cars are design to run at a higher idle at start up to warm them up quick. There is a sensor that reads water temperature and tells your car's computer how fast to idle. Your RPMs seem slightly high but not out of the norm. Does idle ever drop to around 600/800 after about a minute? If not, your engine temperature sensor maybe defective.

94 toyota camry has low idle and stalls when in reverse

Idle adjustment should be @600 to 700 RPM with the car in gear and emergency brake on if the car is an automatic trans. Adjust idle accordingly. If a standard the idle should be @ 650 RPM at idle.

Low rpm on start up, check engine light came on.

If you dont have a code reader go to Autozone and have them read them for you. it sounds as if you may have a defective sensor. It may be a simple cheep solution to try to clean your mass air flow sensor. You Can do this by taking some brake parts spray cleaner to clean it up. the brake parts cleaner dosent leave any residue so it wont harm the sensor. If you dont know where the sensor is located it is usually located just after the air filter box.
