Cooling fan inop 1995 mustang gt 5.o

you can check the cooling fan by disconnecting the plug at the motor and run jumper wires from the battery directly to the fan motor it should run if its working if it doesn`t run then the cooling fan motor needs replacing. if it does run then check the plug for a bad connection. other things can cause this like the cooling fan relay, the coolant sensor that sends a signal for the computer to turn on the cooling fan by sending a signal to the relay.

I got 1990pontica grand am and radiator. Fan is not. Turning. What should. I do

if you disconnect the plug on the cooling fan and use jumper wires and connect on end to say the battery and the other end to the terminals on the fan if it doesn`t work then the fan motor needs to be replaced this is common. if it does work then it could be the cooling fan relay in the relay box or the coolant temp sensor that tells the ecm to turn on the fan.

The fan on my 2004 Grand Prix quit working 2 weeks ago. Checked fuses and that doesn't seem to be the problem. Any ideas?

if its the cooling fan at the rad then your talking about then if you disconnect the plug on the fan and run jumper wires to it directly from the battery it should run.also check the plug connection to make sure its in good condition and no corrosion.if you jump the fan motor and it doesn`t run tap the motor it should run either way if it doesn`t then the cooling fan motor needs replacing.

The cooling fan will not work and will not work when connected straight to the battery, what could be the problem?

check the ground wire ( black wire ), if the ground is ok and you apply 12 volt to the power wire ( green/yellow wire ) and the fan does not run replace the fan motor if the fan runs get back with me and i will give you the test for the fan controler circuit.

My 2002 chevy tahoe cooling fan doesn't go on. I

There is a sensor that the fan is connected to that is plugged into the engine block that senses the temperature. Maybe the wire is broken. Trace all the wires from the fan to wherever they are connected and find the one that is not attached or cracked or shorting. That sensor may also be bad.

In my saturn the fan does not turn and the car runs hot

You can have a couple things going on. One being a bad temperature sensor. Dont be to surprised many cars have 2 and for one of them its only function is to tell the fan when to turn on. The other is a bad fan motor. Jumper a wire from the battery to the connector and see if it turns on. If it doesn't then you need a new motor.

The fans do not come on at all

Check & replace the Fan switch on or near the thermostat. also connect the fans straight to the battery to make sure they work. Also check the cooling fan relay(s)

I have a 92 corvette and I have power at the cooling fan relays, but I cann,t get power to the fans. Also the inside heating & air fan doesn,t work either.

mcdevito75 here, At the relays wiggle the wires to see for loose connection, also see if you can jump the fan direct to the battery to see if the fan works., Also the fan relay could be bad, or the temp. Between the relays and fan there is a temp sensor that puts the fan on, jump that and see if the fan works.

Cooling fan only seems to work when wired straight to battery

try connecting the wires on the sensor together to see if it is faulty. if the fan kicks in then it is.
It is normally on the radiator or the thermostat housing.
If you are unsure what it looks like, it's a bolt head with 2 wires attatched, bridge the wires with a screw driver with the ignition on, if the fan kicks in then the sesnsor is faulty.

Cooling fan

Here are the cooling system diagnostic steps...First does the cooling fan kick on (with engine hot)? If not, check the fuse, if good then check the thermoswitch in the radiator (it's about an inch and a half in diameter located on the lower part of the radiator with two wires ) by disconnecting the wires and touching them together (again, with engine least 190 degrees) if the fan comes on, you have a bad switch. If not connect a 10 gauge jumper wire from the battery to the fan itself (there are three terminals,,, one high, one low and ground). With power direct from the battery (and a ground wire, if necessary) fan should run... if not replace the fan assembly... if it does run then you have a bad cooling fan relay (under the dash, I believe). Hope this helps... ;-)
