This is caused by a bad starter, i would also check to make sure the battery connections are clean and tight, this is common on forgein cars, you get a click and as you kepp cycling the key it makes the connection inside the starter and starts, 99% of the time its a bad starter it will get to a point soon where it doesnt start anymore and you will get stuck. hope this is helpful.

2005 chrysler 300 key turns and it just clicks or does not do nothing

If you turn key to "RUN" position and your getting power to all accessories such as windows, radio wiper etc. then your most likely looking at a starter motor issue. When turning the key to "START" and you hear a slight click but keep turning it several times and it finally cranks over then the contacts inside the starter are not making good contact so as you continue to turn to the start position, it turns slightly until it gets good contact and finally spins the starter.
If your mechanically inclined you could take it apart and clean the contacts on the armature otherwise just cheaper to replace it.

you dealer is not going to want to hear this, have them replace the starter, inside the starter are copper contacts it sounds like a bad adjustment on these contacts inside the starter.Just because it's new dosen't mean it can't be bad!

Replaced starter, now will only click when turning the key

The clicking you hear is likely caused by the starter selenoid or (starter relay switch). The starter switch is used to start cars and is a high-current switch. This consists of discs and also contains a set of windings. When the relay is energized, it moves the contact disc. Sometimes the contact discs can get stuck in place which will then make a clicking sound. You can replace this switch for right around $20 or so at your local auto parts dealer, like Autozone. Attached is a generalized picture of what the starter switch may look like.

I have a buick century 2001 or 2002 and when I try to start the car with the key many many times it will not start. It will turn all the power on, lights, radio, windows, unlock the stearing wheel and...

My first thought was a dirty battery cable connection...corrosion builds up and allows contact to work all of your accessories, but not good enough contact to work the starter? Sounds like the problem comes and goes...as this is the case, if your Buick has the 3800 V-6 the start sometimes and not sometimes usually points to the crank position sensoe...$35...If your car is running now...does the check engine soon light come on? If so, your local Auto Zone will plug in a testor that can help pinpoint the problem...:)

Starting difficulty. When I turn the ignition

Check your battery terminals and the hot lead on the starter make sure they are clean and tight. If they are you are most likely will need a starter.

Car makes a weezing sound, turns over, but wont start

Yes, this sounds like your starter is begining to go out. What will happen as this problem continues to progress: is that when you go to start the car you will have to try 2, then 3 then 4 times for the starter to finally engauge. Then if you pray really hard when it gets to the 5th time it might start. The noise you hear is the bendix drive not engauging the flywheel.

Hello I have a Montero Sport 1993, I have problems when turn on, but does not turn on takes a period of 20 minutes approximates to turn on, you change the battery, the starter but the problem continues....

You probably need to change the ignition selenoid. It's what sends the current to the starter when you turn the key. If it is bad you'll just hear a clicking sound over and over till it warms up and finally connects. It will get worse over time.

1999 Toyota Corolla CE. For about 2 months, the engine does not start immediately. I need to turn the ignition key several times until it starts. Each time when I turn the key, a clicking sound happens...

it sounds like either your having a short at the starter or the ignition switch is bad, I am leaning towards the issue being the starter, usually when the ignition switch is going bad there will be no click,

Sometimes dead ignition

Connections are the most common either on the battery or the starter solonoid. Next would be a starter, but you would usually get a click down on the flywheel where the starter engaged but could not turn over. Finally an ignition switch, unlikely but contacts there do sometimes go bad there as well.
