Question about 1995 Chevrolet Camaro

1 Answer

My standard transmission camaro has 212,000 miles on it. and out of the blue i go to start it and it will start up and within less than 5 seconds it will die again. I have the Haynes repair manuel on the car and have checked fuel lines and pump, vacuum hoses etc. was thinking it could possibly be in the ignition inside the car. what r some other possible obtions?

You could have a problem with theanti-theft device if yours is equiped with one. If it is there is a very simple fix. First you need to know if you have the anti-theft device on your car and to know that just look at your key. If your key has a black raised area on it then you have the anti theft device. You will need to check the resistance between the two sides of the black raised area. go to radio shack and get a resistor that matches that resistance and install it in the car. To know where to install it you will need to find the orange wire coming from the ignition switch and down the steering column. Cut the wire and you will find two wires inside the orange jacket. Strip both wiresthat do NOT go to the ignition switch and put the resistor on those two wires. It is best to solder the connections but definately tape them up good. Sounds like alot but it really is pretty easy.

I have a 1998 plymouth breeze that squeals on the passenger side front. not the brakes. not the serpentine belt and not the wheel bearing .starts at twenty mph. also it stops sometimes. I'm kinda...

Ok its not the transmission.
If the car has to be moving to make the noise, its probably something connected to the right front wheel. You should be able to jack up that wheel and have someone run the engine in drive while you listen for the source of the noise.
And it could be the drive axle or the transmission.

What oil should i use for a 1985 chevrolet camaro

They would all say seinthitic oil but i would stick to the 10w30 chevy oil due to the fact that this vech shouldn't need the walls of the cylinders washed down with something forgin....Not that there is anything wrong with that.It all has to do with the type of filter you use. Oil is oil but filtration and cleaness is what mekes or breaks an engine/............Hope this helps.

The Change Oil (not oil light) in my 2002 Camaro came on less than 10 miles after it left the shop for new brakes and less than 300 miles since its last oil change. What would cause the change oil light to...

There is a trip botton next to your speedometer, where it it shows how many miles are on the car and how many miles you have traveled since the trip was last set. Push it in for about 15 seconds with your ignition on and then release it. It should turn off during this time. It means wherever you had your oil changed the mechanic was not very experienced or did not know what he was doing and he did not reset the trip. I would not take a car that nice to a mechanic like that again!

If you changed your oil just less than three miles ago, you just need to reset the computer. In this vehicle it may be the same as other chevys. what you will need to do is turn the key to the run position. Depress on the gas pedal three times and turn off the key. this should reset the computer. good Luck

Erratic shifting on 2001 f150 pickup

How many miles on it? Do you mean overdrive? Over drive will clunk when shifting in cruise. Mine lasted 212,000 miles but I have heard of them going out after 120,000, depends how you drive. That Traney is good till it starts acting up then you will need a complete overhaul. I got it done for $1800. Do not go to a Ford dealer, they quoted me $3200.
