THE TRANSFER PUMP LOW PRESSURE MECHANICAL PUMP LOCATED RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE LOW AND NEAR THE FRONT.NOW IF YOU HAVE ELECTRIC LOW PRESSURE TRANSFER PUMP IT WILL BE LOCATED ON THE ENGINE MOUNT NEXT TO STARTER.CHECK FUEL LINES FROM FUEL TANK TO TRANSFER PUMP FOR DAMAGE OR CRACKS.AIR GETS IN FUEL SYSTEM THROUGH FUELS IF CRACKED. LOOSE OR DAMAGED.YOU DONT BLEED THE LINES JUST CHECK THEM ALL MAKES SEE NO LEAKS OR DAMAGE LINES.

if it runs well once started..hard starting can be glow plugs not working.problem could be in glow plug relay.

  • Jonah Oneal Aug 27, 2010

IF GLOW LIGHT CAME ON THEN TURN OFF YOU GOT IT TO START WELL THEN GLOW PLUGS WORKING. I AM LOOKING IF IT RUN THEN DIES.PROBLEM COULD BE IN THE LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP.IDLE SPEED TOO LOW.LOW ENGINE COMPRESSION.TIMING OFF.BY WORN TIME CHAIN.YOU YOU FAULTY DIESEL INJECTION PUMP OR ITS TIMING OFF.THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS THAT WILL CAUSE STALLING PROBLEMS.CHEAPER TO TAKE TO A SHOP.BECAUSE DIESEL ENGINE YOU NEED SPECIAL EXPENSIVE TOOLS TO WORK ON THEM.

You can check this by running a temporary line to the fuel tank, and if that works you replace your other line for a proper repair.

I have a 93 F250 7.3 diesel non turbo. The other day i went to fire it up and i turned the key and it never even cranked over. All the lights and electronics died and my radio presets reset. I had to take...

You have a bad battery cable or one that is corroded or loose. My '93 f-250 7.3 non-turbo did the same thing. The give away to the problem is the radio presets are disappearing. Check that the cable ends are CLEAN and TIGHT. If that isn't it, the cable itself may be bad look for swolen or cracked insulation or even heat damage on the cables.

1988 rx7 turbo starts and runs for 3-5 seconds and dies...

Check the injectors, make sure that they arent corroded aswell, and there is a way to convert vane into Maf but i wouldnt do it since they do the same thing. Just make sure the contacts on the inside of the potentiometer are not obstructed and and smooth. IF it is old then it would be ok to replace it. Check the wiring for any cracks to the vane airflow. Also the fuel pressure regulator check that and see waht the pressure is there with it on and off. That might be bad too.

You are setting a trouble code on engine problems, have truck scanned to find error. Trans. will go into safe mode in this instance and this is why shifts hard.

it sounds like your fuel lines aren't maintaining pressure and the angle is allowing too much fuel to drain out of the lines. i have the same issue with and older f350 diesel if i let it sit a while and it doesn't get started.
