2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara. Please advise the location in car of the transmission control module. I think it may be be incorporated into the engine ecu as I can find no separate listing for it. Thanks

first off: what country, and what engine?
we are USA forum that car is sold all over planet earth.
and many vary hugely by that factor.
here it is a H27 engine, my guess, just sold my POS.
the car also comes in 4wd and 2wd, the a/t transmission brain
on all Vitara's here, was moved, to where, ?
in 1997.
moved to the confines of the ECU, and then renamed it to PCM.
there is no TCM in the DASH starting in 1997 to now.
unless its a diesel or so other strange enigne there in say Europe.

see, welcome to the www, world wide web
we've not a clue where you are...... (not me)

why not just scan the PCM like we all do and see all those transmission errors, 1997 to now.
on the 1996, you scan it and get P0700
then must use a special tool (or method) to scan the external TCm
there, the full story, on usa spec cars. only this car.

(if engine is good, not overheated )
its only 1 of 2 things.
lost spark (do a spark test using , yes, a test good spark plug)
if spark is good on all cyl
then check fueling, if spark plugs not soaked in fuel (tips)
then try test fuel.
if soaked, the op guide says, hold throttle fully open (depressed 100%) this cuts INJECTIONS 100% and you start a flooding motor)

I have a 2001 suzuki vitara it will run for about twenty minutes and stall.

which engine? 2liter?
do a tune up, read the operators guide, see the 60k mile listing.
follow that every 60k or it will stall.
if you did do your service, stalls can be caused by over 50 reasons.
I will list a few
1: not ever tuned up. if it has a cam belt , that too is 60k service.
2; bad engine cyclinder compression on 1 or more cyl.
3: bad spark, spark components dead. 1 or more.
4: stuck open EGR.
5: ISC stuck closed,
6: after 20mins the engine is not fully hot 180f+ bad thermostat.
7: leaking injectors
8: too high or too low fuel pump pressure.

each failure , is discovered with simple tests. using very inexpensive gauges.
ask for help, or take the car to any ASE certified mech.

It seems to me someone has been driving it through deep water but it could be something else it maybe a issue with a cooling system you may need to check with a mechanic.

I have an audi a4 1996 2.6 v6 the auto transmission will not select gears after i drove it in very heavy rain conditions. is there a possibility water could have gotten into the transmission and if i...

The transmission should be totally sealed from rain getting in unless you were submerged, even then not really. What sometimes can occur although rare, is that in very heavy rain and slip conditions the controls and sensors for torque distribution and anti spin and lock can get a liitle confused and set off numerous fault codes. The system goes into limp home mode that usually limits revs and/or shift changes.I would first make contact with a garage or dealership that can successfully read your ecu for fault codes and clear them. Also does your speedometer and /or rev counter still function correctly,as a speed sensor fault can give a similar fault, but again it will set of a fault code.I hope this helps or at least will get us closer to a solution.

Suzuki Vitara 1996 when the engine is cold it is hard to change gear

Alot of transmissions have these same problems as they start to wear out. Best suggestion is let it worm up and it should last a while. Remember when we used to have to let all of our cars warm up before we drove them.

good luck hope it last alot longer is a good car u got there.
