Make sure the new battery is good and fully charged. Also, check carefully your connections to the battery and the connections at the other ends of the cables. The connections should all be clean and tight. Also, look for signs of defects in the cables, especially at the terminals. Good luck!

My son had a 1992 ford probe that had an engine fire 2 days ago( it's totaled), he had just gotten a new battery and had it installed at auto zone just a few days earlier, the firemen that put out the fire...

I doubt that Auto Zone could be held responsible. A lot could have taken place under the hood in a few days. And there's no way to really tell what caused the fire. Plus, if it was a total loss, how could anyone determine where the fire originated?

1998 Ford explorer , had sitting every winter months in garage, usually start right up every spring. put in charged battery,,would not start. Seems like the fuel pump is not pumping out any fuel. I...

The pump is in the tank. The tank has to be droped to replace it. Pumps can go bad at anytime without warning. A failing pump you may not have noticed but can go bad when sitting. Try checking the autoshut down relay and fuses assiciated with the pump. Seems its not getting power or has failed.

I have 1999 1.7 puma, the clutch seems to loose pressure when sitting in traffic with the clutch depressed is there a comon fault ?

It sound like the Master or slave cylinder seals could be leaking, if you pump the clutch does this help ??. I wouldn't worry about it being a common fault your car is nearly 11 years old and the brake and clutch fluid should be changed every two years as it becomes emulsified ( absorbs water) take it to your local garage they will be able to tell you more without driving your car and seeing the problem it's hard to say anymore

My 1996 ford probe se has problems with stalling.

sometimes my 1996 ford probe has problems starting - have to try several times and most times it just starts without problems. it doesn't matter whether it has been driven or just sits for days. i've had starter and starter solonoid replaced. battery is fine. it runs perfect though.

"01 Mustang has been sitting for 2 mos, turns over, won't start?

gasoline will go bad! if you plan to store your vehicle use something like "STA-BIL" to prevent this. you may need to remove the gas that is in it and replace it with some that is fresher.

1997 LINCOLN TOWN CAR - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT( code P430)

I think you will find the aftermarket Cat Conv. is the source of your problem, but without hooking up to the factory test equipment at my disposal at my Ford dealer this at best and educated guess based on 20 years of emission related work, I am a Ford certified master electronics technician
