Hi. What type of oil do I use on my Ford Econovan y.2000. The engine is FE2000

You can use a 10w-40 grade premium oil or synthetic blend oil
.....OR.....
a fully synthetic in 5w-30 grade which is better but more expensive.

When selecting the oils in either grade make sure the one you choose is approved for Ford vehicles by checking the label details. Oil companies manufacture 2 or 3 different formulations of oils in the same grades and the label (usually the back label on the pack) will indicate that the oil is formulated for the engines of specific car manufacturers.

use a carpet blower and let it blow under the dash for a few days. this should have been the first thing done while doing the other repairs. it might need a ECM,BCM and some relays.
The faster you can them dried out the better the chance of getting it running. hope the ditch didn't have salt water in it, if so chances are grimm of getting it running again without major electrical repair ! carpet blower Google Search these work great for getting stuff dry in a hurry.

First time I start the engine in the morning there is a clatter (lifters?). This happens almost every morning, but only the first time. Is there an oil line that feeds back to the lifters that maybe...

To prevent this from happening, you have to use the viscosity your engine specifies. If it says to use 5W30, use that viscosity. Dont use the 10W40s or other grades just because of the mileage. Your oil pump is designed to place the proper oil pressure with that grade and if you change it, you alter the flow rate and pressure. For that same reason, I always use a new oil filter. The dirty filter will restrict the flow also affecting the lifters. I also recommend Z-max additive to clean out your oil system. It cleans it and protects your engine at the same time. No other one really works as good. Put it in while the oil is hot. As you put it in, you will hear the difference. I'm an engineer, so I really am anal about what works and what does not. Good Luck!

How often do you change the motor oil? The motor oil filter? The automatic transmission oil and filter? What type of motor oil should be used?

Oil change recommended is every 3,000miles / 5000km for local short running around. If you clock up the miles quickly then extend the oil changes to 6,000miles /10,000km
Oil filter is every second oil change.
Use reputable multi grade oil 15W/40 or similar, Do not use standard SAE 30 single grade oil. You do not need to use synthetic / semi-synthetic oils either.

Oil type for 2006 dodge grand caravan

New cars and truck manufactures recomend differend types of grades of oil when the engine is new. What they don't tell you when the engine receives 30,000 miles on it the grade of oil can be changed for better lubrication. Use 10w30 for normal use upon changing oil.

No oil pressure

Make sure that you are using the correct grade of oil for your car and climate.
Oil pressure warning light ON usually indicates a problem with 'low' engine lubricating oil pressure and is a CRITICAL issue that needs to be fixed before you blow your engine.
Some of the causes:
- Wrong oil type for your car and weather
- Low oil level
- loose oil cap or dip stick seal
- Leaking oil gaskets or engine seals (common in old cars)
- Blocked oil filter
- Faulty oil pump or block internal oil pump filter

Getting oil out of car carpet

Hi:

Sometimes an oil stain is tough to get out, because of the difficultly in breaking down the oil.
A suggestion is to buy a degreaser solution, such as Simple Green, or Castrol Super Clean. Mix one of these solutions in a spray bottle, 50/50, and drench the carpet with this spray. If you can get or borrow a carpet cleaning machine to **** most of the solution back out of the carpet, that would be best, but towels will do the job too. You might have to do this several times, but I am confident that you will get alot of it out by using a degreaser to break down the oil.

I have got a w reg peugot 106 1.1 and have topped it up with 5w-30 oil is this ok as someone is telling me this is the wrong oil to use.

No harm provided this is the grade you added to. Not a lot of harm if previous oil was syntectic or semi synthetic but if the oil in the engine was mineral oil then they won't mix properly. If you are unsure then it's best to change it all. Another thought I have is if it needed topping up then it's probably ready for an oil change anyway. If you have changed it recently check it was changed with the recomended grade. If you put synthetic oil in an engine where mineral or semi syntectic is recomended then fully synthetic your engine may burn it as it is very thin. Hope all this makes sence to you if not get back to me and I will clarify. Cheer's

What type and grade engine oil do i use

Use 5w30 oil in this car, preferably a synthetic. The manufacturer recommends this grade of oil and it needs to be changed every 3000 miles.
