If the motor moves then either the gears are stripped in the regulator or the window is off track. More then likely its the motor assembly which has the gears in it. Some older fords offer a gear rebuild kit for the window motors or you can buy the motor with the gear assembly for about 30$

Where is power window relay located 2001 buick regal

There is no relay for power windows !
Power Window System Components
The power window system consists of the following components:
Driver window switch

Front Passenger window switch

Left Rear window switch

Right Rear window switch

Window regulator motors in each of the doors

When the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACCY position, or Retained Accessory Power (RAP) is enabled and the lockout switch is disengaged, battery positive voltage will be available at the passenger window switches. When an individual window switch is pressed in the down position, battery positive voltage is applied to the window regulator motor causing that window to open. When the individual window switch is pressed in the up position, voltage is applied to the window regulator motor in the opposite direction causing that window to close. The return path to ground is supplied through the inactive control circuit being normally grounded through the driver window switch.

Driver side windows is not working on my 2001 town car

it could be one of two things..either the window motor itself or the switch is need to pull door panel off and use a voltmeter. Attach your voltmeter to the connector attached to the window motor w/ your meter set on 12volt dc..turn the key to the run position and move the window switch in both directions. If you get a full 12volts at the motor then the motor is bad..if you get no voltage readings then its your switch.

Window on driver side doesnt work

you should be able to test the switch with a test light , but most cases it is a worn pwr window motor. I have turned the key to the on position, engine off and hold the pwr window button down while you slam the door hard. the window will go to working for a while longer. you need a window motor

The passenger side pwr window does not go up or down.sounds like motor is running. Just before it stopped, it went up when pwr button was pushed for it to go down. What might be the problem? I was told...

If you can hear the motor (regulator) running and the window is not moving up or down then it sounds like you need to replace the regulator, there is a plastic piece on the regulatore which holds the window on track, when this breaks the window will not stay in track thus not going up or down. Unfortunately you have to replace the entire regualtor for plastic piece, about $100 at Oreily's or Autozone. You have to remove the door panel, disconnect the power to regulator and retaining pins or screws, pull the regulator through the large hole in the door frame, replace with new regulator in reverse order. Careful, secure window with duct tape in the up position before removing the old regulator (manually push the window up with your hands first)

Let me know if this helps

1998 Ford Windstar passenger side pwr window only works when outdoor temps are -10F and below. Motor has been replaced. Problem is?

There is a bad connection somewhere most likely in the connector to the motor, but play with the connections, and check the voltage at the motor while moving the window switch.

All windows but drivers won't go up or down 2001 GMC yukon

If they sound like they are trying to do something it's not the lock out switch . But to be sure pulling out the switch an testing for B+ voltage to and from the switch . Plus pull the other door switches to see if they have B+ voltage and good grounds would be the thing to do.. If you don't know how to check automotive electrical circuits your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .
Passenger Power Window Operation
The passenger power window switches incorporate window up and down relays. The relay coil feed and supply sides are powered through the RAP fuse supply voltage circuit. The normally closed contacts of each relay is connected to ground. The load side of each of the relays are connected to either side of the power window motor through the power window up and down circuits. The up and down relay control circuits are connected to the normally closed contacts of the passenger window switch. These contacts are wired in series with the power window master switch, through the power window master switch up and down signal circuits and then to ground when the power window master is placed in the up or down position. This allows for the up and down operation of the passenger power window from the power window master switch. The center pole of the passenger power window switch is also connected to ground and will energize the relay when placed in the up or down position.

Driver Power Window Operation
The driver power window is unique from the passenger power windows in that it does not use window up and down relays. The driver power window is operated directly from the power window switch.
The normally closed contacts of the switch are connected to ground and the center pole is connected to the RAP fuse supply voltage circuit. By placing the left power window switch in the down position, voltage is applied to the power window motor left front down circuit and to the power window motor. The other side of the power window motor is connected to ground through the normally closed contacts of the left power window switch through the power window motor left front up circuit and drives the window down.
By placing the left power window switch in the up position the polarity of the motor is reversed and the motor drives the window up.

Has circuit breaker for B+ power
• PWR WDO CB 25A (fuse block) (System power for left and right windows 2-door vehicles. System power for LF and LR windows 4-door vehicles)
• PWR WDO CB 25A (IP wiring harness junction block) (System power for RF and RR windows 4-door vehicles)

Could be passenger door switch .
