Question about 2009 Mitsubishi Galant

1 Answer

I have a 2009 model mitsubishi galant and i encountered squeaking noise when i apply a little bit of break during backing off and at the same time my wheel is turning at the left side position, but there is no squeaking noise if i backing off on the other side and and on the straight position. i experience this for the past four months. i already bring this to the mitsubishi service center here in winnipeg canada and they said that my break is still on 90% working condition, but i notice that the noise is going higher and higher as of this moment. I bring my car to service center again for the Type C service of mitsubishi yesterday and i thought the the squeaking problem will be fixed, but when i drive my car today, the squeaking problem is still there. Please give me some advice, tips or solution for this problem. Thank you.

Is there grease nipples around wheels of caravan

Is it a brake squeak? Some vehicles have a little metal tab on the brakes that starts squeaking when they get close to needing to be replaced. When you push the brake, the sound may go away due to the pressure being applied. Check your front brake pads.

Passenger wheel chirp / squeak that stops when brake is applied

sounds like a brake pad warning clip is making contact with the rotor applying brakes presses pad and quiets the noise. have pad wear checked by mechanic.

Why are my rotors making noise after i changed my breaks

There can be several reasons.

1. Glazing on the disks, if you didn't have them re-surfaced.
2. The anti-squeal shims are improperly installed.
3. Didn't use any of the brake quiet on the backs of the pads.
4. Didn't properly seat the pads after installation.
5. Running a premium high performance pad(ceramic, or high metal content)

I hear a squeak noise on the driver side front tire dont know if its the tire or rod

the easy whay to fine this out is to put the spare tiyer on and drive it
if it still squeaks it could be the disk pad binding up a little on the disk
wip them both out on both sides and apply some copper ease to the back of the pads making sure they can slide easly in there holders
the next time your driving and you here this squeaking noise jut apply a very little presher on the foot brake to push the pads onto the disks if it stops the squeak its pads

Squeaky noise when applying breaks

sometimes if they get a glaze effect they will glaze up causing squeaks. Are they very shiny? if so they are glazed. Also are they factory pads or aftermarket do you know? Metallic pads almost always will give off a little squeak. If you know how to take off wheel and caliper you can remove the rotors and bring them into parts store and they can turn them real quick for you for about 20-30 for both of them. Just do the fronts. if you say your pads are fine leave them alone and just reuse them. This will help renew the brakes alittle but when you do replace pads in future always replace rotors as well dont turn them with new pads. and if you can, go with ceramic pads. less likely to squeal but just for a few hundred miles untill break in is over.
