Question about 1994 Nissan Sentra 4-Door

3 Answers

I have a 1994 Nissan Sentra, It stalled on the highway, and would not start back up. First thing I did was put some gas in the tank because you never know. Next thing I did was to spray ether in the intake, and it started and ran until the ether burned off. So I replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel pump relay, I can hear the fuel pump turn on when I turn the key, but it still will not start. I have checked the fuel lines for breaks and did not find any. Even though I think it is a fuel issue I replaced the ignition coil anyway.

You'll need to check your fuel pressure regulator,it will be on the fuel rack on top of the motor, just follow the fuel lines on top of the intake, it will be a round silver cylinder on top of the motor, just follow the silver fuel lines, just an adittional thought,,,the injectors may be clogged due to bad fuel.. in case the pressure regulator not bad,,,try clear rubbing alcohol in gas tank,, 1 bottle,,make sure it's clear,,not green alcohol, add to gas tank to dry up watered gas in the tank...you never know about where your gas you bought comes from or where they bought their gas from,,, just to br sure.... you sure enough have a fuel issue to the engine. hope this helps you!!!!

Go to autozone and rent a fuel pressure checker. Make sure it is at the required psi. If the car starts with either it is def a fuel problem. I dont know the config of your engine but I would imagine each port has its own injector. even if 1 injector was totally clogged it would start but run horrible.
When I replaced the fuel pump on my fiero I had to bleed the line by removing the valve stem and put a piece of hose over the valve and into a approved fuel can. I then had someone crank it while i was holing the hose steady. Use a respirator and safety goggles please. After you do this if it still dont start it has to be a sensor or the ecm itself.

It takes more then fuel pressure for the engine to run. First thing to do is check the injector fuses and visually inspect the wiring. If that checks out OK use a noid light to see if the injectors are firing. If they aren't firing there is a bad sensor, bad injector driver in the computer or a wiring fault.

Have diagnostic codes read at a local shop or auto parts store and go from there. noise in back is fuel pump, it's probably ok, most make a whining noise. Probably needs a complete tune up or some minor repairs. guessing will not help. have someone qualified help you.

2003 Cuts off when hot, will not start untill cool

My 2003 nissan sentra would get hot and stall out even in middle of highway doing 70 mph. The guages would go up and down. Would not start up all the time after stalling. had to cool down first. Nissan said it was head gasket, and wanted to charge 1000.00 for the job. I took to local dealer who charged me 550.00. Works fine ever since. Nissan dealer said they do like 3 head gaskets a week on the sentras. They have crappy ones in original parts. They have not recalled though.

2001 Nissan Maxima- runs rough, stalls when idle

Timing belt could have skipped a tooth.

Horrible vacuum leak could have started. Listen for suction noises when you raise the hood.

Someone could have poured sugar in your tank.

You could have put diesel in your tank instead of gas.

Could be a bad MAP sensor, TPS sensor, etc.

Need more details to be precise.

    1994 Nissan Sentra

Get a Chiltons/Haynes manual for your make/model/year and go to the troubleshooting section. It sounds like the same thing my little rabbit did years ago. Turns out it needed new fuel filters and the fuel tank flushed. The gunk kept impeding fuel flow. Didn't do good things for the fuel pump either.
