Question about 1994 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

When trying to crank over the car tries to start. Just replaced distributor and still wont start. Also the injectors wont click when testing. Nit sure if the fuel pressure is good or not and if that would cause injectors to not work.

Ok well, since you just replaced the distributor, check the timing properly and make sure its set right. If not, then i'd be suspect of the crankshaft position sensor being at fault here. As this would cause the no spark no fuel condition. have it checked and replaced at ur local auto shop. good luck!

Put new EC module, IT module, distributor EGR valve, coil, TP sensor and fuel pump works. The car cranks but will not fire.

What's missing ? Spark , fuel pressure , or compression. Try spraying carb cleaner into the engine ,throttle plate . Does it try to start then ? If the injectors are bad it will not start , just crank ! Videos on youtube showing how to test fuel injectors with a ohm meter .

2001 Hyundia Accent wont start

Is the car engine turning/ swinging when the key is turned. If the engine is cranking then look at the distributor and the spark plugs and engine timing also it is worth a look at the fuel pump and supply to the injectors there should be a valve similar to the wheel valve on the injector bank press the valve with key on you should see fuel spurt out under pressure as the pump will be keeping the injectors under pressure . If the car is not cranking then look at the starter.

It turns but it wont start,it has gas and power

Pull off the coil ignition cable at the distributor and check for spark coming out of coil when cranking engine over. Use a heavy rag or glove to hold the wire 1/4 inch from a metal ground. Should see a strong blue spark when cranking to verify ignition is good. If no spark, check for battery voltage to coil on the coil primary. If you have current to the coil, suspect a bad coil, ignition module, crank position sensor, or cam position sensor, or pcm. The coil, ignition module, and sensors can be tested before replacing.

I have 1994 jeep wrangler 4.0 inline 6 5 speed, no spark I tried replacing coil, pick up coil ,crank sensor, still nothin tried resettin ecu but the codes wont clear I think might be a bad ecu ?

In some cases you have to replace both crank and cam sensor for both to respond, I would suggest geting a used cam sensor and trying again, if it still dosent work then all points to the ECU. What about the ignition switch since the vehicle is 94?

Cooper s wont start after head job good comp/spark/fuel

Do any cylinders fire at all? You have the three requirements (comp., spark, fuel) for a properly timed engine to kick right off. You may have to re-check your timing marks. First check your injector circuit. Pull off one injector connector. With key on, one of the injector wires should have power. Check with a test light, should be steady voltage. Now check the injector ground circuit: Put the black lead of the test light on the positive post of battery and probe the injector connector wire that did not light up. Have someone crank the car. If working properly the test light will be blinking when cranking. If this test checks out, the injector circuit is working.
One last: Does your Cooper have a distributor, or is it distributorless ignition? If it's a distributor, maybe you are 180 off-pull dizzy off and rotate 180 degrees and replace.
Well, if all else fails, check your timing marks again. Good luck.

My 1987 Chevy r10 cranks but wont start. i was driving and it just shut off like you switched the key off. i have no spark and injectors don't energize as well.

It is most likely the ignition module, have it tested,if it test good, replace the pick up coil in the distributor, this pulses the injectors.

1995 honda civic d15b7 cranks but wont start. new

Are you sure you have correct timing? its definetly a fule problem, if timing is good then turn your key to the on position and try to listin for the fule pump to prime. While the key is in on position go to fuel rail, there is a valve on fule rail called sharader valve. Get a small screw driver and press valve in to check if car has fule pressure. if pressure is present then it is incorrect timing or possible bad cam sensor.

I have a 84 potiac fiero 4 cyl and the multi port injector wont spray when trying to start. I tested it with two wires to the batery and it works, but the wires coming out of the harness wont turn the...

Be careful putting 12 volts to the injector harness,it will burn the e c m out.The module in the distributor, and the pickup coil work together to pulse the injector and energize the coil. The ignition module is most likely the problem, but the pickup coil in the distributor, would be my second choice in the two.See if it has spark,or spray a little bit of starting fluid in the intake, not much,if it fires, and tries to run, replace the module, and the pickup coil.If it has no spark, the module replacement will be all that is needed.
