What kind of coolant is needed for a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am?

just go down to your local auto parts store and buy your basic antifreeze -- you can buy a premixed 50/50,, but depending on where you live and the temperatures,, I would suggest buying 100% antifreeze and adding water to it,, if you look on the back of the antifreeze bottle there will be a chart to determine the correct ratio mix for your areas temperature.

I have a 1996 cutlass surpreme 3100 series and it overheats and has a leak toward the back of the engine the leak is bubbleing out antifreeze what could it be?

one of the most common problems with th 3100 is that the intake gaskets leak in the corners. You can purchase the gaskets at auto parts store. They do not cost much and are not that hard to replace. Purcase a repair manuel for about 20. dollars and there will be a step by step procedure on the fix. Hope this helps leave a comment.

Dodge shadow 93, antifreeze bubbleing in overflow., white smoke at exhaust.. whats going on?

Sorry for the bad news but you have a blown head gasket and will need to be replaced soon as you can before you end up replacing the whole engine. Antifreeze is corrosive to the engines main bearings and will cause you an engine as long as there is antifreeze mixed with your engine oil.

Temperature problem

Make sure you have 50/50 mix antifreeze, it will still run hot if you have 100% antifreeze. As the antifreeze get's hot, it turns in to gel and the flow slows down and the heat exchange will be reduced. Water is great in transferring heat but it will boil over so antifreeze is added to keep it from boiling over, so a 50/50 (water/antifreeze) mix is used. You can go a bit higher with the antifreeze but try not too and in the winter you can go 40/60 (water/antifreeze) if your in really cold climate area. The other thing to is do you have electric radiator fans?? Think you do, make sure it's working. When you turn on your A/C the radiator fan should come one and also when the temperature  gauge hits 180 - 195 degrees the fan should come on too. If not check the fuse, relay's and wire harness to the fan. Good luck and hope this helps.
