After warming up (about 30-45 minutes), transmission will not downshift into first, causing engine to stall while coming to a stop (or shifting into DRIVE from N or P). After cooling down for 45 minutes to an hour, problem is resolved until engine warms up again.

code p 0732 refers to gear ration 2-incorrect ratio===causes --wiring--TR sensor /switch--shift solenoids---transmission mechanical fault
you say that the transmission is good after warms up so discard transmission mechanical fault
possible a shift solenoid problem but the TR (transmission ratio) sensor switch is a good bet
If you have not had an transmission oil change done in the last 60,000km , clean oil might help as well
Changing the fluild ( all of it) might fix it if your lucky. Something overheating sounds possible. Any cooling system problem can cause this and cleaning the cooling system and flushing out the transmission cooler in the raditor may go a long way towards fixing your problem. dity raditor and or coolant will cause this problem. I you clean everything real good and then go and drive it and it goes longer but still does it your in for another rebuild. this time put in a new raditor to make sure the transmission lasted as long as it's supposed to. It's possible the throttle pressure was'nt set right and the trans upshifts too early and therefore the transmission gets too hot cause the engine is going too slow to make good transmission pressure and the slipping transmission overheats. again even after corrected it'll still do it as the transmission internal seals are adamaged by heat and it'll need to be rebuilt again.
Sounds like a bad speed sensor. Perform an ODBII scan soon. ECU should delay upshift until coolant temp senses warm up. It will not work right unless a signal is present from speed sensor.
if it feels like your driving a standard transmission ,and "you came to a stop light without pushing clutch in" that will be the torque convertor lock up,
Likely, you ignored the real problem 'till it was too late. (the old "closing the barn door after the horses have run away") The clutches in a transmission are paper thin and do not respond well to heating: any slippage causes internal heat. At this point your only option is to have the unit rebuilt. I know that you won't like this answer, but it's fact.
A reason for hard shifting could be a problem with many things with various degrees of seriousness. It could be your ATF( automatic transmission fluid) is low or broken down and old. This would cause the hardness and the reason for stop and go traffic effecting it. Another possibility is your transmission is just shot, and the timing gears inside are worn and not properly shifting at the correct RPM causing a **** during shifting.
Sounds like you need the updated engine computer for harsh shifting. Look up under the glove box at the computer. Number should be 89661-02K21 if not, you need the update. It is an 8/80 warranty item.
