Question about 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
You can reset the ECU but I don't think resetting anything will solve.
There's numerous things that can make a car not start. You don't even mention whether it cranks or not. If it cranks but doesn't start then could be shaft sensor is bad, ECU is bad, no power or not grounded, or the main relay also known as ASD and MFI is blown and won't send power to the ignition and pump.

you will have to get to car to start before u'll get em back. you always check codes first so these situations don't happen. you can use the data only screen to see what is going on with the vehicle when you're trying to start it. if its not starting...is it turning over? if so it has a fuel, fire, or timing issue. what kind of car? Chrysler's have an asd(auto shutdown) relay that will keep a car from starting. there are technical service you can ask for help online http://www.xcardiag.com/service/
