Question about 2008 Toyota Sienna

Open Question

On a 2008 Toyota Sienna Air Filter Housing there are three small diameter tubes connected to the housing. What are they for? The fitting for one of them has broken off and the tube can no longer be attached. Will this cause any problems?

DRL's can be added simply by adding a 20 amp fuse into an empty slot in the fuse box.

SOURCE: The sliding door handles of my 1998 Toyota Sienna have both broken.

I replaced both of my sliding door handles this weekend. It was actually pretty easy. Cheapest I could find the handles was a little over $70 each. The interior panel is held on with one screw and 10 nylon clips. The one screw is in the cup holder. Put you hand in the cup holder and push out at the bottom. It pops right off exposing the one screw. I started on the clips from the top at a corner. Seemed to be the easiest place to slide a screw driver under. Once I got the screw driver in, I started working my fingers under the panel. The clips run mostly along the top and bottom about 6 inches from the edge. I made an effort to apply the force as close to the clips as I could to reduce flexing the panel. Once I got the first clip to pop out the other followed pretty easy and the panel lifted right off. Carefully peel back the plastic barrier. The exterior handle is held on with two 10mm bolts. Connecting the short cable was pretty obvious once you could see everything. Now I have to teach everyone to open the side doors very gently! Hope this helps.

Oil filter location on 2011 sienna

It uses a cartridge type filter, the filter is inside an aluminum housing in front just behind the radiator on the engine block, you will need a special filter socket to remove it, the dealers have it as well as most autoparts stores. You will see a 1/2" square hole, turning it will not remove the filter housing, you need a socket that fits on the 3" or so housing cap.

What is the name of the valve in the air filter housing

the valve in question should be one of two.... if it is rather small and just kind of sticking in the housing with no real bolt downs or brackets it would be the intake air temperature sensor ( tells the computer what temp the incominng air is)... if it is larger and located after the air filter box in line with the intake boot, it would be the mass air flow sensor. meters the air flow intake and reports to the computer.

Location of oil filter

The 2007 Tundra 5.7l engine doesn't have a spin on filter - it uses a replaceable paper cartridge within a permanent housing. Located under the skid plate on the front-left portion of the engine, the oil filter unit has two coolant hoses, a black plastic screw-in housing, and a large, metal, round screw with a 1/2" square fitting in the middle of it. The cartridge-type oil filter is in the housing.

If equipped with a skid plate, access is accomplished by removing the 5 skid plate bolts, allowing the plate to swing down on integrated hangars (with the front plastic bumper skirt still attached). To completely remove the skid plate, three small screws holding it to the front plastic bumper skirt must also be removed.

Toyotafilter kits contain a new filter cartridge, a plastic drain plug, and two O-rings. The drain plug is used to drain residual oil from the filter unit prior to removing the plastic screw-in housing. After removing the large, metal, round screw with a 1/2" square fitting in the middle of it, the plug simply snaps into the bottom of the plastic housing. The smaller of the two new O-rings replaces the existing O-ring on the screw.

Once drained, the plastic screw-in filter housing is removed using a filter wrench (Toyota special service tool). The larger of the two new O-rings replaces the existing O-ring on the screw-in housing. VERY CLOSE ATTENTION must be paid in placing the new O-ring - failure to properly seat the new O-ring could result in a massive oil leak! The filter itself is currently only available from Toyota.

How to change air filter for toyota camry 2003 thanks

The steps are described below

  1. Turn off the car before changing the air filter. Don't start the car once the air filter has been removed, it acts as a barrier were the car to backfire.
  2. Locate the box that houses the air filter. Look in the front driver's side of the car, closest to the windshield, near the center of the engine compartment.
  3. Undo the clips that keep the housing lid secure. Lift the lid and compress the accordion-type tubing towards the engine.
  4. Remove the old filter from the housing unit. Clean any leaves or debris out of the box.
  5. Replace the old filter with a new filter that is made for the specific make and model year of your Toyota Camry. Use a K&N air filter, part number 33-2260, for a Camry manufactured from 2002 to 2007.
  6. Pull the lid back over to the air filter housing unit, and snap it in place. Reattach the clips to secure the lid.

Po446 only code that came up. Hoses are all attached 2002 Toyotal Highlander

i have an 03 highlander...i don't know if this matches your problem or not but when my air filter cover is lifted in order to check or change the air filter, it can lift a small black hose off the metal tubing that it is attached to (down behind the air filter housing...about 1 to 2 feet down). If this hose becomes detached, after some starts, the check engine light comes on. I think this is part of the emissions recirculation or something to that effect...I'm sorry...I am not mechanically oriented but I did have this particular issue as I've described. So, once I learned this, I always removed that hose from the air filter housing before lifting the top cover off the air filter housing and then always put it back once I've put the filter cover back into place. Also, when a shop does oil changes, they typically check your air filter and they usually don't know about this. I always tell them to either not check my air filter or I check the hose after they're through (I usually do anyway just to be sure). They'll pull this off and they'll never know it. You can't feel it tug when pulling the a/f cover off so you do need to check this. I don't know if the 02 Highlander is the same as the 03 in this respect but I would check behind the air filter housing and look for a small black hose and feel if it is properly connected to a metal tube that runs up from the engine below. Hope this helps.

Oil and filter changing for 08 sienna. How complicated is it?

You still have to drain the engine oil from the drain plug in the oil pan, and I recommend replacing the drain plug gasket.
If you buy a filter from Toyota, it actually comes with instructions on exactly what to do. There is a 3/8" recess in the bottom of the filter housing, when you put a 3/8" extension and a ratchet in this and remove it, there should be a plastic piece that comes with the filter to pop into the bottom of the housing and drain the oil. replace the o-ring and reinstall the housing drain plug.

You can get a filter-cup tool from Pep Boys or local auto parts tools sections that will fit the filter housing. Use the cup with a ratchet and extension to remove the filter housing. replace the filter cartridge and the o-ring. Make sure to lubricate o-ring, they will snag! Reinstall and add 6.4 qts of oil

I can't find the air filter

For my 2006 HHR (2.4L), you have to remove the air-intake/cleaner HOUSING first. This includes
1. There is a large (2.5" diameter) hose that is located at the front/center of the housing. Loosen large hose clamp from the hose that connects to the housing and pull hose off of HOUSING.
2. There is large diameter hose that is located on the right side (passenger side) of the housing that needs to be loosened, then removed.
3. Remove two 13mm nuts on the back of the housing that connects the housing to the engine.
4. Remove one little torx bolt on front/right side.
5. Unplug the electronics connector.
6. Now it's ready to come out!!

Now you have to disassemble the housing because the air filter is in there. This is simple.
1. Remove seven (7) torx screws and split the housing open ... remove the old filter with a new filter.

Reassemble!!!
