Check the fuse for the brake lights... it may be blown... if it isnt there should be a shift lock over ride somewhere in the car....mabey near the shifter....check to see if you have brake light first

if the situation is drastic the have the tow truck pick up by the drive wheels . Use a jump battery (Positive to battery positive negative to motor) and shift the gear selector.

My 2006 dodge charger is stuck in park how do i repair it

When the car gets stuck in park it is due to the park lock system, the system will not release unless the brake lights are on so if you have no brake lights then the gear shifter will not move. Check the brake lights first.

2004 Chevy Trailblazer Gear Shifter Moves But Will NOT shift into gear ..Came home from shopping put her in park.. Then couple hours later cranked up to go again, shifter moves loosely... The car is in...

The end of the shift cable has broken, there is a plastic ring at the transmission end of the cable that breaks. You will need to have it towed to the mechanic.

The gear shift lock itself, i have it on park then when i turn the car on the gear those not want to move its like it gets lock,

This involves surgery of the console. Have the vehicle towed to a Transmission shop. They do this repair in there sleep. The shifter release is seized.

When you turn ignition on it releases a cable that is attached to the shifter also the shifter has a solenoid attached to it that is released when you step on the brake. Both times that I had the problem of button stuck and cant shift out of park the solenoid was sticking and wouldnt release .
