From what you have described, it sounds like your Master cylinder has gone bad and will need to be replaced. The other area too that may cause this a air in your ABS system which may be causing you to have the same issues as having air in your lines.

Good luck and keep us posted.

The brakes need to be bleed of air using a special tool that holds open the hydraulic control valve's of the ABS Hydraulic control unit, better brake shops have universal ones the dealer of course has the correct chevy tool, without the tool u can't bleed the brakes completely

How do i turn the ABS light off of a 2001 chey malibu?

Yes, you can bleed them. But unless you opened the lines when you changed pads, you shouldn't have gotten air in the lines. Are you sure both brake reservoirs are full? If they are, then try bleeding. Start at a rear tire and move to front, with the driver's side being last one bled. Check carefully for any signs of brake lines leaking.

I have a1994 lesabre and have an issue with the drivers side rear brake drum, it will not brake after i have bled the brakes. It would stop the tire after I bled, but then when I started the car, it...

Hi There,
can I just run this idea past you,,I had a similar problem on a brit car, put the car on axle stands, remove wheels and drums and un-adjusment the parking brake cable, start from scatch on the drum adjustment making sure that both drums bind very slightly, equaly on both sides, the drum should not rotate more than one revolution when spun by hand. (please make sure that you DO NOT get them too tight) when you are happy with the adjustment, replace the wheels and adjust the parking brake so that the wheels lock up between 5 and 7 notches.
Then rebleed brake lines.. if necesary, it worked for me..
Good Luck.

2001 Chev blazer, brakes have been bled, peddle

You probably have air between the master cylinder and the abs pump. Fill the reservior and have someone pump the brake and bleed the primary lines at the abs pump. Good luck.

I have a 92 chrsy. 5th ave with no antilock brakes. just base brakes with rear drums. replaced master cly. due to leaking and replaced all the brake lines and hoses. i have good streams of fluid from all 4...

When you bleed the brakes are you starting with brake furthest from the master cylinder? Also was the master cylinder bench bled? If everything there is okay and you are not getting any air in fluid stream, you could try bleeding the brakes by having some one slowly pump the pedal till it is firm. Then have them let off open first bleeder valve and slowly depress to floor and hold there untol the valve is closed. repeat this at all bleeders. You may want to have car running to do this. Try this and let me know.
