My 97 taurus has a 97 Sable motor, and the tensioner pulley is to low to get a rachet and socket on to change serpentine belt, and the diagram is missing also, just not sure what to do, any answers?

There is an easier way! Get a hold of the Haynes service manual for the 97 Sable at your local auto parts place. It will show you how to do it. I use a breaker arm with a socket on it to get the leverage needed to move the tensioner pulley.

I have a 97 jetta with 190k miles on it, is it worth putting more into it for a 2nd timing belt and cowel panel? How many miles can I expect out of this car?

This car will most likely start loosing compression from one or more valves at 220,000 - 250,000 miles requiring a valve job. I wouldn't recommend doing the timing belt until the car reaches 220,000 miles.

Alternator belt change

Dumb question, but have you checked under the hood. Many manufactures place a label in the engine compartment or on the underside of the hood with the diagram. You could also check a manual in a parts store.
