Question about 2004 Ford F250

1 Answer

Our ford f250 turbo diesel will not accelerate, we backed up sat there for a moment, then was able to get it working again t get 5miles down the road, where it just quit. The check engine light was on as well. We have replaced the throttle pedal position sensor, but still having issues, what else can it be?

I am having the exact same problem. This has happened to my truck 3 times over the past three weeks and we have replaced two pedals. Were you able to find a solution?

My pickup runs at an extremely high rpms. it is a 93 F250 powerstroke turbo diesel any thought on what i should try?

check the timing of the pump as pump timing if incorrect will cause engine failure . High rpms may be from the accelerator control not being assembled properly on installation or if ECM controlled the connection to the pump is not correct. Looking at ford diesel rpm specs , some fords run to 6500 rpms while others are at 4500 . As you have not stipulated the engine size or capacity ,it is hard to advise other than to go on line to googlr - type in ford max rpms for your engine and see what it is suppose to be

My pickup runs at an extremely high rpms. it is a 93 F250 powerstroke turbo diesel any thought on what i should try? and how do i time it?

Unless the pump has been moved the timing wont have changed. if it has a hand throttle make sure it has closed , check the accelerator cable is not binding, and the air flap in the throttle body is closed . Other than that the governor may be at fault.

How do i install a turbo sensor into a 2000 ford F250 super duty,powerstroke v8 diesel?

I'm not a diesel mechanic, but the sensor is either off the turbo itself,or
mounted close by on the fender or firewall.Google the sensor and maybe a forumn can give you the specific location better. Good luck.
