Sometimes my drivers power windows work and sometimes it does not. passager side never worked. how do i find out if its the swithch, the power window motor or the tracks in the door

First thing to look at is the fuse located underneath the drivers side steering wheel. Remove the fuse box cover lid and on the back side you will find a diagram. Locate the power window fuse, pull it and then replace it. Both windows should work after you replace this fuse. Remove the door panels and then look at the glass window and to if it is lined up with the tracks inside the door. If they are still not working, you will need to test or replace the drivers side window switch. Remove the drivers side power window switch from the door and then use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity. If you are not getting power (continuity) to the switch then you will need to order a replacement. Click on the link below to get a replacement:

The driver's side power window on my 2001 C 320 Mercedes fails to operate on occasion. Is a complete switch replacement necessary or is there a wire loose? Is it a DIY project?

the way to do it is take the switch out and swop it with passager side then if passager side stops working you no the switch has gone and you need to buy new switch. if not you would have to check window motor in door

Sometime the power windows work sometimes they dont. can this be repaired easy?

I had the same problem with both the driver and passenger windows. The electrical contacts were not connecting at all times. I opened the swithches on both and adjusted them a little closer. It's been over 2 years and they still work.Hope this helps.

New battery in 06 mazda 6

1. Turn ignition switch to "on" position.
2. Open passenger window completely from passenger side window switch.
3. Close passenger window completely from passenger side window switch, and hold switch for an additional 2 seconds.
4. Turn ignition back to "lock" position.

That's it. Works like a champ. And here you thought it was more than just a battery dying....I did.
