Same thing happened to my 95 silverado and it was in the ignition switch. I opened it and cleaned all the cintact points and problem solved. Just be careful cause it has about 8 strings. Try not to break it either.

1993 Infiniti J30 no fire to fuel pump

Is the key you had made an official replacement. Some keys have a chip built into them that activate/deactivate the security system. Typically these come from the dealer because they need programmed with your VIN number. The car thinks its being stolen so it doesnt send power to the fuel pump.

OK I HAVE REPLACED MY FUEL PUMP IN MY 2003 PONTIAC GRAND AM SE, THE FUEL SENDING UINT IS WORKING BUT THE PUMP IS NOT WORKING ,I HAVE CHECKED THE FUEL RAIL AND HAVE NO PRESSURE AND I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED...

O.K. this is going to be long but stick with me.
The gray wire that goes to the plug at the sending unit is the one to run the pump. We need to get power to this wire. This wire runs to the fuel pump relay. The relay has 4 pins one is the gray wire-one is the 15 amp power for the pump that has battery voltage with the key in the run and start position. one is ground and one is the relay trigger from the ecm. Pull the relay and look real close on the bottom side of it by the pins there will be numbers 30,85,86,87. 85 and 86 control the relay 30 is the power from the fuse and 87 is the gray wire going to your fuel pump. If you use a test light and see if it lights up between pin 85 and 86 when you first turn on the key (should come on for 5 seconds or so). If not we have a problem on the computer side. If so go to #2 below. If not ground test light and try 85 then 86 if it lights up on one of them when you first turn on key the other post (of 85 or 86) has a bad ground.
#2 So we now know the relay circuit is good Turn key on and check for voltage between post 30 and ground. if there is voltage then run a jumper wire from battery voltage through a 15 amp fuse to post 87 if the pump comes on its the relay if it stays off then there is a open in the circuit from the relay to the pump. don't forget to check for a good connection where the wires go into the plastic on the top of the sending unit. reply if I typed to fast and I can walk you through any step you have problems with.
Good Luck and God Bless

91 f15 5.4 mortor will turn but will not start, no fuel pressure at shrader valve theft lite goes off fuel pump does not come on fuel filter needs changing has been sitting for about a month

You are going to have to take a voltmeter to the fuel pump wires at the connector to see if it is getting voltage. It'll only get voltage for one second after you first turn the key on and will get voltage continuously while trying to crank. So, you'll have to have someone crank the engine over while you check for voltage. If you get voltage and it won't come on, then you need to replace the pump.

On the plug that goes into fuel pump . it has 4 wires a ,b .c.d shouldnt i be getting 12 volt from one of them?i only get 5 volt from one.fuel pump does not work

You should have 12 volts at the gray wire. The black is ground make sure and use this wire also. This way you know the ground is good also. When you turn the key on you will only get battery voltage for 2 seconds with the key on.If you crank the motor then you will get battery voltage also.Hope this helps.Good luck.

#1 NEED TO VERIFY SPARK AT SPARK PLUGS # 2 CK FUEL PRESSURE AT SCHRADER VALVE ON FUEL RAIL ,,PRESSURE DEPENDS ON TYPE ENGINE ....IF NO SPARK AT SPARK PLUGS CHECK SPARK FROM COIL WIRE , IF NO SPARK AT COIL ,CHECK VOLTAGE TO IGNITION COIL SHOULD BE 12 VOLTS, IF NO VOLTAGE AT COIL ( KEY ON ) CHECK FUSES THEN IGHITION SWITCH. IF NO FUEL PRESSURE AND FUEL PUMP RUNS REPLACE PUMP .. CK VOLTAGE TO FUEL PUMP WHILE CRANKING . CK USING PUMP GROUND WIRE AT THE PUMP CONNECTOR THIS WILL PROVE GROUND ALSO. USE TEST LIGHT TO VERIFY

It seems i am not getting any power to fuel pump, replaced pump still no power dont hear pump turn on at key on position check relays but not sure on good or not

Replace the oil pressure switch for the third wire on that sends 12 volts to the fuel pump upon turning the ignition key on to prime. Once oil pressure is achived the computer shuts that circuit off and turns on the fuel pump relay to power the pump till you shut off the engine

I have a 2001 Mazda Millenia that died on the freeway. Got it home and pulled the Fule line by the Fuel rail and its not pumping fuel. How can I test the fuel pump with out pulling the whole gas tank out ?

Find wires on top of fuel tank , that go to fuel pump .
Get test light or multimeter.
Connect multimeter to the wires,
Turn the key on.
If you get voltage and pump is silent , you need a new pump.
If you don't get voltage it's probably fuel pump relay.
Just remember , the voltage will be there for about 5 second after you turn the key to ON position without firing the engine.

02 silverado stopped running today while driving..had it towed back to house...think it's the fuel pump...or is there a fuel pump relay that may have gone bad?

Could be a relay or fuse, if ok check for voltage down at fuel pump harness over by gas tank ,probe wire's only one will have voltage with key on , then check other wire's should have voltage at one of the other wire's while cranking engine only and should go away when stop cranking, if you do have that voltage replace fuel pump.Good luck.Let us know if you need more help.

Intermittent fuel pump engagement when turning key - 2001 Taurus

try cleaning the connector that goes to the fuel pump, sometimes they corrode on inside. If that does not fix, test the wires feeding fuel pump with a multi meter until the condition shows itself again, if voltage drops to zero or very low then wiring problem, if voltage is unchanged with problem and fuel pump is not working and connectors are all clean, try replacement of fuel pump.

# 8 fuse blows as soon as i turn key on

this is going to take a bit of time, but if you are patient with me I'll get you through this. The fuel pump and engine control systems are kinda broad answers.
Ok first have you let the fuel level get very low many times? If so you could have burnt up the electric fuel pump, Ok there is one possibility you can just unplug the fuel pump connector back near the tank and see if the problem goes away.
I would like to see you unplug the two front 02 sensors and see if the problem goes away , see the 02 sensors have heaters in them and are full battery voltage as soon as you hit the key, if they short out they will take out the fuse, fuse #8 is inside the car, which feeds the fuse box under the hood Do these tests and get back to me.
