2001 Ford Expidation. The air flow stops on Max AC but when the auto is moving some cold air flows on normal AC setting.. Cold air does exit rear seat vents. Some times the front fans will operate and cool and the fan will operate on any of the three speeds .Some time it will run two hours, some time two minutes and some time not at all..

are u saying that the front blower motor quits? if so u either need a new fan motor or a new fan motor speed controller.

  • jllandrum Aug 24, 2010

Yes, the fan motor quits and does run on any setting. Thank you for your help. L L

the next time the front blower stops to to the connector of the front ac and use a DC voltmeter set to the 200 volt DC scale and test to make sure u have power to the motor, if i do replace the fan speed control module which is mounted into the air duct just next to the blower motor

Why does my fan continue to run after car is shut off?

Which fan are you referring to? The pusher fan in front of the radiator is tied to the AC system. If it continues to run for an extended period after you turn off the key, then there is likely a problem with the relay. I think your model year has the 2 speed fan. Does the fan run at high speed or low speed when you turn off the car? Does it do it if the AC is off?

2003 jETTA Fan only works high speed. For AC compressor runs but no fan other than when switched to high speed at which time the fan runs at high speed but AC switches off.

a resistor went bad for your blower motor. It is located by the blower motor on a circuit board. You can get the replacement resistor at Radio Shack and solder it in.This fixed my problem

The a/c on my 2010 Mercury Milan quits blowing after about 2 hours of driving. Any ideas?

Sounds to me like the A/C clutch is no good and out of adjustment. You should goto your nerrest junkyard and get a used assembly take the clutch off then you learn how it comes off and install it on yours the save the pump for later use if needed. The clutch should only have a .010 air gap after install between th inner elctro magnet and the clutch plate it's self.

firstly i think you have overcharged the Ac system as the most it should hold is 650 grms for this system on this model ,if too much gas it will click in and out and slow the engine down ,as for the gauge readings then renew the sensor its on the housing at the front in the plastic housing ,depending on year and model this is where most are ,but some later models have a sensor at the back of the head left side from front

2003 ford focus not putting out much cold air from ac

Make sure the fans are running when AC is on. The fans should run all the time and regulate from high to low speed. If it does not run on low speed the connector for the low speed resistor has burned out. It is located between the two cooling fans and has two wires. Mine was burned and I clipped the wires and replaced the connector with two heavy duty female spade connectors. Cost 4.99 . Ac works fine now. If all the fans are operating correctly and ac is cycling on and off it may be low on freon .

The fan to the ac works intermitent, sometimes I start the engine and it works and other times it doesn't

that sounds like it might be the blower motor resistor. it is what controls the fan speeds. sometimes they cut in and out like that.

The inside front fans run on high only .

I am guessing it has eatc. The blower speed controller is shorted causing the blower to stay on all the time. Replace the controller and you should be good to go. It is located under the hood on the evaperator case. Good luck.

High speed fan running all the time

if temperature is over 80 degres outside, or the ac pressure over 250, it will be on all the time, but if still doing it, like abnormal, then have the a/c presuure swtch replace or inspect.
