Question about 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada

1 Answer

I, too, have a '98 Olds Bravada. I cannot locate the oil pan. Isn't it always flat, and located under the engine? Is the oil pan on my Bravada different in shape or location? I'm just trying to change my oil.

Where is the oil filter located on a 1999 oldsmobile bravada?

There is a plastic door located under the front of the vehicle - it opens with a 1/2 turn plastic retainer - the oil filter is located inside - be careful removing the filter, as it will drip oil onto the inside of this pan and end up dripping all over your driveway eventually

Where is oil crankcase locate under the hood

Your crankcase is also known as the oil pan. Technically it's under the hood but is most visible from under the car as it is the bottom of the engine. It's called a crankcase because the crankshaft is inside there. To get a bit more complicated though, the crankcase is also the lower part of the engine where the crankshaft actually is housed in the engine, the oil pan actually serving as a sump for the engine oil and as a cover to keep dirt, mice and zebras from getting into the engine. When someone talks about the "bottom end" of an engine they are referring to the crankshaft, connecting rods and the bearings, all which are contained in the crankcase. Your oil drain plug is always located on the bottom or around the perimeter of the bottom of the oil pan.

Where is the blower motor for 98 olds brevada located. i need to replace it

inside the plastic housing on the passenger side of the engine compartment - plastic housing has to be cut open and fan removed - not a job for the first timer - need a dremel or good cutting tool to do a good job on the housing - check a Haynes manual for a little better info

Can't locate Oil Plug underneath

it's easy to tell the difference, the trans pan is very flat and square. The oil pan is also square but it it not as wide, it is taller and goes higher up into the engine area than the trans. Good luck
