2006 Mitz. Lancer whining noise from clutch/trans. area.

Hi! Most likely you have a worn throw-out bearing which applies pressure on the clutch plate to engage and disengage the transmission. If that is the case, the tranny would have to be removed to replace it along with a new clutch assembly! Good luck!

Grinding when clutch is not engaged. Sound goes away when clutch IS engaged (i.e. pushed to the floor). Only makes noise when you let clutch out and while driving. Makes noise sitting in neutral too.

the throw out bearing is what I am thinking Sue.
may as well have a new clutch put in too as its the same amount of labor to do the whole thing as it is to just replace the throw out bearing.

Sure sounds like a throw out bearing having too much room. Might need adjustment.

Eagle Talon 95 ESi manual 5 speed whining noise related to clutch

who ever told you its the throw out bearing was wright. its an enclosed bearing so it does not run in any oil. if it only makes noise when it cold or sets for a while its common and dose not warrent taking it to a shop. all there going to tell you is you need a new clutch$$$$witch you do not need.

Squeeling noise when pressing the clutch

That noise is coming from the throw-out bearing, its dry and worn needs to be replaced. While you are in there you should do the whole clutch job becuse you need to remove the tranny to change that bearing which consists of Pressure plate, clutch plate throw-out bearing center bearing and resurfacing of flywheel.maybe even a new slave cylinder. Good Luck

When I engage the clutch, sometimes it makes a whining sound.

If it is a throw-out bearing it will only make noise when pressure is applied to clutch pedal, there is also a pilot bearing that will squeel with clutch in if bad. when doing a clutch replacement all these parts should be replaced.
