On a cold engine run your hand down the exhaust pipe from the manifold down, the first obstacle you get to is the o2 sensor(before the cat)

2005 dodge neon idle.

Get the code. Codes never tell you to change a sensor, they just indicate the problem circuit they are seeing. Only sometimes it is a failure of the sensor.
You probably need test equipment like a digital voltmeter. Maybe join a neon forum to find out how others solved the problem.

2005 Chevrolet Equinox runs ruff. Showing a cdoe 171 running too lean bank 1 Possible causes?

Vacuum leak on that bank due to damaged/loose connection of a vacuum hose to sensors or intake gasket on that side being the worst.

How do I change o2 sensor on 2005 cobalt

Hi, place the Cobalt in "Park" on a level surface. Allow the Chevy to sit for 10 minutes. This will allow components to cool enough to touch but still be warm, which is ideal for replacing the oxygen sensor. Open the hood of the Cobalt and identify the oxygen sensor. Look for a white, rubber, plug-type sensor on the passenger side of the exhaust manifold; this is the oxygen sensor. Use a socket wrench paired with an oxygen sensor socket to loosen the sensor. Turn the wrench counter-clockwise until the oxygen sensor is loose. Remove the sensor from the manifold by pulling it off. The sensor will come off without much force. Insert the replacement oxygen sensor onto the manifold. Secure the sensor by pushing it into place until the sensor clicks. Close the hood of the Cobalt.
Take care

2005 Chrysler Crossfire Can too much oil and resulting HIGH OIL PRESSURE indication result in a ''bad oxygen sensor'' reading on the diagnostics?

yes cos the engine is blowing oil out of the exhaust manifold onto the lambda probe(oxygen sensor)which
is reading unburnt fuel/sensor fault.drain oil ASAP.

I have engine service required message and fault code 042

P0042 : Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)bank1, heater control -circuit malfunction.

The code is telling you one of the oxygen sensors or the wiring to it is faulty.
